"only if you knew, how much i liked you."

will arrived home and went straight to his room, not caring if his mom or jonathan were home yet or not.

he sat on his bed and looked around his room, until his sketchbook and colored pencils caught his eye.

getting up, he grabbed them and started to sketch.

meanwhile, mike had taken eleven home and was in her room saying goodbye, but no matter how many times they said goodbye, mike would try to find a reason to stay.

"hey, i'm home kiddo!" hopper yelled as he closed the front door.

no one replied to hopper's call. he walked towards the door of her bedroom and jiggled on the door knob.

"open this door, please!" he yelled.

the knob made a clicking sound and hopper opened the door.

"mike." hopper greeted.

"chief." mike returned the favor.

"what did i say about this door?" hopper raised his eyebrows at eleven.

"three inches." el said.

"we were just saying goodbye to each other, the door didn't need to be open if were saying goodbye." mike pointed out.

"well, if you're saying goodbye, then why are you still here?" hopper sassed.

"right. well, i'll see you tomorrow, el." mike hugged her and left.

he decided to go to will's house because he felt bad for forgetting about their plans.

when he got to will's house, he knocked on the door, but there was no answer.

mike assumed that will was the only one him and couldn't hear him, so he knocked louder.

"will!" he shouted.

"i'm busy mike!" will shouted back.

"can you let me in? i had to leave el's house anyways, so i figured i'd just come here." mike explained.

will opened the door slightly and poked his head out of it.

"i'm not just some...substitute, okay, mike." will claimed.

"what're you talking about, will?" mike asked.

"i'm not going to let you choose eleven, and then when she can't hang out, be the fill-in for her. i'm not just some...thing you can use when you're bored or when can't hang out with your girlfriend." will explained.

"no, will, you're not, you're my best friend, but el's my girlfriend and she has to come first!" mike exclaimed.

"then go talk to her on the phone or something." will shrugged. "you clearly like her more than me."

"but i—."

"goodbye, mike." he slammed the door shut.

will looked out the window and once he saw mike start biking home, he went back to his bedroom and looked at the drawing.

it didn't dawn on him how much he really liked mike until he saw that the drawing was the two of them holding hands.
