The next day I found myself staring at a piece of lined notebook paper taped to my door.

Goodmorning lieutenant Tsuki, I hope you slept well!

I have a few tasks for you to complete today.

1. Grab the paperwork from my desk and carry it off to Captain Kuchiki

2. Attend the lieutenant's meeting this afternoon

3. Deliver the paperwork from lieutenant Hinamori to my office. (Try not to make a mess this time)

Next to 'try not to make a mess this time' was a smiley face with small ears, resembling a fox face. A cold chill ran down my spine, wondering when he had time to put the paper on there. I yanked the paper from the door, throwing it into the small black trash bin next to me. Why doesn't he have the decency to tell me himself? Is he that busy?

I pictured the narrowed eyes and sinister smile for about the umpteenth time as I exited my room. I had already put on a freshly cleaned shinigami uniform and the lieutenant's badge was tied pridefully to my arm.

I started with the first task, walking towards the office. I found the paperwork that had been scattered all over the room the previous night neatly stacked on top of his desk waiting for me. The office room was less intimidating now that the morning sun's rays filtered in through the window. To my surprise when I picked up the papers his desk was cleaned and wiped down, not leaving any trace of strewn papers or stains that may have been there. Weird, I could've sworn that there was a bloodstain there.

I disregarded my thoughts for now. I made my way back to Squad six barracks while keeping in mind yesterday's incident with Captain Kuchiki. I spotted the familiar red-haired lieutenant lounging against a tree as I entered the courtyard.

"Abarai-san!" I shot him a smile.

Renji opened his eyes from his calm state, noticing the smile on my face from a side glance. He stretched out, coming over to meet me.

"Yo Tsuki-san. Came back after Captain Kuchiki's death threat huh?" He took a look at the papers in my hands before averting his gaze back up to me.

"Seems so. Do you know where he might be actually? I was told to deliver these papers to him."

Renji nodded, gesturing me towards the large barrack's. On the outside, the structure seemed to be much bigger than even that of Squad three.

"I'll show you to his office, just follow me."

Renji began walking ahead of me as I scrambled to meet him at his side. He let out a small chuckle as he watched me trying to meet him at an even pace.

"So, I'm guessing if you got some paperwork than that means you met Captain Ichimaru?" he asked.

I shook my head. "No, not in person anyway." My mind flashed back to the previous night on instinct before I snapped out of my thoughts. I can't be thinking about that now.

We made our way to Captain Kuchiki's office, stopping in front of a beige door. "This is his office. I would knock before entering and state your name and position if I were you."

I nodded, knocking on the door with a free hand. "Lieutenant Tsuki."

I waited only a mere second before I heard Captain Kuchiki's words of approval from the other side. I opened the door diligently, finding the squad six Captain sitting in the spacious office.
