I looked at Nagareboshi with pure disgust. "How could you do this!"

"It's what you wanted. You wanted to get rid of Aizen and Gin so I made it happen," she said as if she did nothing wrong.

I tried to grab one of her tails but my hand was burned by a floating orb of purple fire that appeared in front of her.

"Are you calling me a liar, Tsuki? You said it yourself that you wanted nothing to do with them."

"But Gin-"

Nagareboshi bared her teeth, her tails beginning to move faster. "I helped you when you were too busy being comforted by the enemy! Don't you realize how stupid you are? He could have killed you!"

"But he didn't!"

Nagareboshi chuckled, her tails relaxing. "For now he didn't. But mark my words, you don't know him."

"And neither do you," I shot back, narrowing my eyes.

"Go fend for yourself, Tsuki."

I found myself in Squad four again. I was in the same room as the time before. I noticed a sharp pain in my shoulder from where Gin had cut me which was now bandaged up. The ends of my sleeves were back to normal.

Gin.

I put my face in my hands with a frown.

It's what you wanted.

But was it what I wanted now? It was strange that Gin would comfort me in the middle of a battle but it felt like he could read me like a book. Like maybe, just for a moment, he cared.

I let out an exasperated sigh, getting up from the bed and making my way down the hallway. The least I could do was apologize and get it over with since I wasn't keen on thinking about him right now.

A head of silver hair caught my eye from one of the rooms.

Gin was lying down under a white sheet. A brand new haori and top for his uniform was folded on a chair next to him.

I carefully walked into the room as to not disturb his rest. I found myself on the side of the bed, looking down at him.

I could make out white bandages across his chest through the transparent sheets and his hair was messier than usual. I spotted one of his arms sticking out from underneath the cloth. I uncovered it to get a better look after kneeling to the ground.

A large cut was made at the bottom of his arm that had already been stitched up. I pulled the cover back further to reveal a higher yet equally large stitch.

I did this.

I ran a finger over the wound, imaging how much he had suffered when his bones began to disintegrate. I winced just thinking about it.

Suddenly, his finger twitched, catching my attention. The slight movement resulted in a weak chuckle from the injured man who had woken up and turned his head to look at me. I shifted my gaze to his.

"It's cute how much shorter ya look right now," he teased in a soft voice. I was about to come up with something to say when he cut me off with his large hand on my head.

"I'm happy you came ta see me."

I had almost forgotten why I came here, seeing the stitches once more. My eyes held his before moving to the floor.

"I'm sorry. I never meant for this to happen."

Gin's hand left my head, moving to my chin to bring my gaze back. "I didn't think ya did. That's not like you ya know."
