AN: Hey everyone! I'm a little behind on chapters due to College but fear not! I'm still going to post new chapters. Thank you for understanding.

Also, I ran into a writer's block so if something seems off please tell me!

On with the story. ^-^

"I don't believe we've met. I'm Squad three lieutenant, Kira Izuru."

I stared at him with my eyes wide in disbelief. The former lieutenant had returned.

His soul reaper uniform was undamaged and his body seemed to bear no wounds. He did however seem to be a bit skinny for his height.

"You were under a state of unconsciousness, Tsuki-san. It has been five days since you were sent to Karakura town," Unohana said, lending me a hand to bring me to my feet.

How could all of this have happened in a matter of five days? That's impossible.

I stood on my unsteady feet, attempting to get used to walking again. It was like being an infant.

"Lieutenant Kira, please make sure she gets back to Squad three safely," Unohana said, watching my wobbly movements with worry.

Izuru nodded and stood next to me, allowing me to lean against him for support.

"Thank you."

He simply nodded his head. He was a little odd but it was probably just the trauma from his mission.

Izuru had lost his entire team and was gone for months. I could only imagine what was going through his head.

Captain Unohana walked us out of the barracks. At first, my movements were slow but steadily I began to adjust.

Our walk was silent though he glanced down at me every once in a while.

Come back in one piece now, Neko-chan.

The words Gin had said to me before I left rang through my head. Thinking about the sly Captain made me let out an inaudible sigh.

I guess I really didn't come back in one piece.

He was probably with Aizen plotting their next course of action, but whatever it was I couldn't be bothered to snoop around. I wouldn't want to risk my wounds opening up anyways.

Izuru and I entered the courtyard of Squad three. My eyes immediately landed on a familiar red-haired soul reaper.

Renji was sitting on the stairs with a bored expression on his face, his fingers lightly touching the green blades of grass. He finally looked up when we neared closer to the barracks, standing up.

"Hey, Neko! You're looking better than that bloody mess from before," he said teasingly, giving me a playful punch in the arm.

I nearly fell back but Izuru caught me, shooting him a glare. "You realize she only just woke up from recovery?"

"She can handle it, she's not weak or anything." He shot me a playful smirk and I rolled my eyes, a smile on my own face.

"What brings you here, pineapple?" I asked, making a remark towards his hair.

Renji chuckled lightly before a serious expression crossed his face.

"Well, there's something I need to tell you-"

"Ah, Neko-chan. I've been expecting you~," a familiar voice said, interrupting Renji.

I looked up to see Gin sitting casually on top of the barracks, smirking down at me. How long he had been eavesdropping on us was a mystery.
