Notes:
- here's something nobody asked for
- I know this says "nerd" but it's also a bullied MC
I've made up a bully character for this series
- enjoy~"Quit it-"
"Knock it off-"
"I'm serious, give it back-"
You struggled on your tippy toes to grab your glasses, which had been stolen from your classmate, Damien, a well known jerk, who held it purposely above your head.
"Come on, just give it back already" you squirmed on your toes and reached out your forearm. "No way, four-eyes!" The demon snickered. He was way taller than you, which made you an obvious target. He could easily keep your glasses out of your reach.
You frowned. "Okay, simply telling him to give them back and reaching for them isn't working. Now what?" You thought anxiously, until you thought up a solution and smiled deviously to yourself.
You swung back your leg and swiftly kicked the demon in front of you in the shin. Damien dropped your glasses instantly and went to clutch his shin. You quickly dove to grab for your glasses, but he stepped in front of them.
"You little shit-" Damien snarled. Angerly, he dug his hand onto your scalp and pulled you by your hair off the ground. You winced in pain. "Hey- lemme go" you squirmed underneath him.
"No fucking way, after that, I'm going to make sure you get what you deserve" he scowled.
"Hey- what are you-"
His foot came down on your glasses, repeatedly stomping until the glass had shattered completely out of the frames. Your eyes widened in horror.
Those were not only your only pair, but essentially your eyes. What were you going to do if you couldn't see? Its not like this is easily replaceable. Especially on your budget.
You winced at the damage that had been done and bent down to pick up the frames. "No use crying now, nerd. You got what you deserved" the demon spat before leaving.
You sat there in silence. How would you walk home? Fear plagued you. "Think, y/n. Who's do you know in your class?" You thought. Your eyes scanned over the students till they rested on one in particular. Mammon!
Anxiously, you made your way over to Mammon. "Hey, Mammon..?" You asked. The white haired demon cocked his head at you. "Huh, what is it, y/n?" You grabbed your shoulder subconsciously and stared at the floor.
"Could we walk home together?"
..........
"Eh? Did I hear that right?" I thought. My face began to grow beet red. I pinned my arms to my side nervously and studied the floor. "Sure, I guess.." I said. "Wait, what if they think I don't want to?" I thought anxiously.
"I mean, of course you'd want to walk home with The Mammon" I grinned nervously. Y/n smiled weakly. "Thanks, I appreciate it."
.........
You started your long walk home from RAD with Mammon. The two of you were awkwardly silent. You two usually didn't walk home together. Even so, the silence was becoming unbearable.
"Hey, y/n..?" Mammon asked. "Oh thank god, he talked" you thought. "This is sudden for you. Why did you want to walk home with me? I mean- not that anyone wouldn't want to walk home with me, its just.." He trailed off.
You gulped, and reluctantly answered his question. "Well, to be honest, I don't think I'd be able to make it home by myself, today." Mammon turned his head at you, clearly confused.
"Why not..?"
You inhaled deeply. "I broke them.."
"Eh? Broke what?" Mammon replied.
"My glasses, what else would I be referring to?" You chuckled. He shrugged and playfully held up his hands, "oi I don't know. You could of broke any of your weird human stuff."You sighed and shook your head. "Mammon, didn't you catch on when I approached you without my glasses?"
Mammon chuckled, "really? I just thought you finally ditched those nerd glasses." You smacked his arm playfully."Like your glasses are any better" you said, waving a finger in his face. "Oi, mine are a fashion statement, y/n!" Mammon protested playfully. You shook your head at him. "Whatever you say, Mammon."
A couple moments of brief silence passed between you two. "Oi, y/n, how did you break your glasses? Aren't you usually careful about this sorta thing?"
Mammon was right. You were extremely careful with your glasses. They were your only pair, after all. You tried to think of any dumb excuse, but nothing came to mind. Regretfully, you'd have to tell the truth.
"Mammon..I...didn't break them.."
The avatar of Greed drew a sigh."Yeah, I figured. It seemed totally unlike you." Damn, had Mammon seen through your lie all along? Just how much did this man let on?
You clung onto your shoulder awkwardly. "Well, since you already know that much, I guess it wouldn't hurt to be honest.." You mumbled. Mammon grinned. "About time, y/n."
You stopped in your tracks, taking a deep breath. "Y/n..?" You studied the ground with your eyes. "I've been getting bullied..and..I told him to stop but he..and then he..he broke them.." You were stammering out of terror, tripping over your words.
If the demon you were outing found out you snitched he'd likely treat you worse. Mammon recognized your fear and approached you slowly. "Y/n...you okay?" Mammon asked, eyes full of concern. You fought back the rising anxiety in your chest.
"No, I'm not. If he finds out I told you he'll-"
"Who's "he"?"
"Damien, he's in our class. He..told me not to tell anyone but.." You rubbed your shoulder anxiously. "That piece of shit-" Mammon grumbled, standing back up. You watched him carefully as he turned on his heal and headed in the opposite direction.
"Mammon-?" You called, "what are you doing?" You caught a menacing gleam in his eyes. This was the first time you'd seen him genuinely angry.
"Whaddya think I'm doing, y/n? I'm going to teach Damien a lesson" he scowled. You were striken with a sudden wave of anxiety. "Mammon, I don't think that's a good idea-"
Mammon turned to you. "You gonna let him get away with this? Don't ya even care that he's messing with ya, y/n?" Mammon said hoarse. You averted your gaze.
"Its not that I dont care..I just..can't do anything to stop him..Besides, getting involved with him is more than what he's worth."
"Y/n, talking like that is exactly the reason this guy walks all over you. And if you dont care so be it, but I care and I'm not gonna let him mess with my human"
You wanted to stop him, you were scared, but to some degree, he was right. You were letting this guy walk all over you, which is more than he desserved. You pulled on Mammon's sleeve.
"Okay, okay.. We can try things your way" you said, showing him a weak smile. "That's more like it" Mammon grinned before turning back in the opposite direction.
You couldn't believe Mammon had talked you into confronting your bully. You only hoped you wouldn't regret it.
