When Love Grows (10)

"Madam wala na sa udlok ito mas mura na dito 'yan sa bayan. Isang kilo 150 mo nalang madam."

We're here in the market to buy some stocks. Sabi ni Lola she only bought meat stocks when she knew that I'd spend vacation here. She wasn't fond of fried meats if not of my likes. I often eat vegetables but when I got here Lola didn't let me eat all meat in a meal. Dapat daw balanse. She told me that Mama shouldn't had tolerated my unhealthy taste.

The woman nodded her head and smiled. "Opo madam. Nagpapagaling muna siya kaya ako ang nandito sa pwesto."

"Salamat madam. Sukli po." I got it from the vendor and put it inside the eco bag.

My eyes caught something familiar. "La gusto ko 'yun!" I excitedly said when I saw something familiarly delicious!

"Ang alin?" we stopped walking.

"Ito Lola. Masarap ito!" I was like a kid bringing my Lola in the corner to buy sweets.

"Nangangain ka ng tuyo?" she asked me like she was confirming something impossible.

Oo naman. Kumakain ako ng tuyo! I don't often eat vegetables but I eat tuyo tapos alamang. Salties! I don't believe that it was something solely for poor ones that matches how those kind of foods tastes dahil pati rin naman ang kapatid ni Papa na sila Uncle Alyas nagpapa-canning ng mga ganun kapag pauwi sila ng US. There were stereotypes when it comes to such things but I'm one existing a hundred percent against of it.

Lola smiled and shook her head. "Mahilig naman pala sa tuyo ang dalaga ko." Binabalot nang tindera 'yung tuyo saka niya inabot kay Lola pero ako nalang ang kumuha kasi Lola was busy looking for her wallet in her sling bag.

"Wala naman na siguro tayong nalimutan. Wala ka ng ipabibili?" She asked. My lips pouted while I was thinking of something I craved last night but I couldn't remember it anymore.

"Wala na, La."

My phone vibrated kaya medyo nalingat ang atensyon ko doon, it was a total letdown to just see a network text.

Tinulungan kami nung lalake na kilala ni Lola tapos hinatid kami gamit 'yung tricycle niya.

Pagdating namin sa bahay Soren was busy knotting the remaining woods. He was shearing it and piling it all together.

I was cross stitching while she was busy cooking. Good thing Lola said there were lots at the back of the house, doon nalang ako kukuha.

"Ate, meron pa ba kayong pantali?"

I got startled when someone suddenly talked ayan tuloy I inserted the pin in the wrong way. I know whom was the voice from kaya ayoko mag sungit. Remember? Naawa ako sa kanya kahapon. I reminded myself not show how much he pissed me by his sudden presence. I was at the moment of working on letter G, I wasn't even on the half of it tapos.... nagkamali na naman ako...Patience and calm...Please arrest this mad soul.
