When Love Grows (20)

I feel a total bliss. Last night after taking a shower I threw myself on the bed. I struggled to make myself asleep. Wala akong maisip kung hindi ang nangyari. All I tink about about is Miguel. I was laughing at myself while I was thinking about it. Gosh, I must've gone crazy for him!

I was too excited to see him. To spend the days with him. I wouldn't have to worry about anything. He got me and I trust him. Hindi ko alam kung anong magiging reaction ni Lola kapag nalaman niya. But I told him not to reveal it to Lola for the mean time.

Can't we just enjoy what we newly have and just let the worries to get worried another time?

I'm wearing a sun dress. I wanted to be extra beautiful in his eyes. I want my best version of myself for him. Pagkatapos kong maligo bumaba na ako dahil breakfast.

"Lola, I'll do the dishes. Nandiyan na po 'yung mga kumare mo sa labas, La." I was wiping the table and piling our plates.

"Hindi ko alam kung anong oras ako uuwi. Kuya Miguel mo naman ang susundo sa'yo. Mga bilin ko, Precious." She said reminding me not to give him a headache. Akala ba ni Lola I'm a five-year old kid who mess around in his house?

"Yes, po. Take care!" Parang gusto pa yata niyang magbago ng desisyon na hindi umalis kaya sinamahan ko siyang lumabas at hinintay ko na makaalis ang sinakyan nila.

I told her about our plans today na pupunta ulit ako sa bahay ni Miguel and he's going to get me here. May pupuntahan kasi si Lola and she said she doesn't want to go because that means I'd be left alone pero sabi ko nga kaya ko naman sarili ko.

While I was doing the dishes I heard a knock. I knew he was here already.

Lumingon ako sa kanya."Wait for me. This will gonna be quick." I tried not to sound in a rush. Normal lang. Kahit gustong-gusto ko na siyang makita.

Grabe, kinikikig ako kapag naiisip ko na asawa ko siya.

"Hi. Morning..."

"Saan punta ng Lola mo? Nasalubong ko 'yung sinasakyan nila."

"Sa bahay ng friend niya. Oldies thing." 

I touched the hair growing on his jaw. I wipe the sweat on his temple.

"Tara na?" he asked.

"Hmm. Sandali lang." I smiled. I went to my room at para i-check lang 'yung kwarto namin ni Lola. Pagbaba ko nakatayo na siya. I locked the door at the back. I told him to walk outside already.

He doesn't have his motorcycle with him kaya maglalakad kami. And I prefer walking with him para mas bumagal 'yung oras.

He was waiting for me while I was clasping the strap of my slip-ons. "Miguel, is this yours?" I asked showing him the folded dark umbrella I got on our table.

He smiled and held my hand again. "Pakiulit nga."

I know he wants me to reiterate his name without addressing him as "Kuya".

"Sa'yo 'to, Miguel?" I emphasized his name para naman dream come true para sa kanya.

"Sa'kin nga." He chuckled and I felt him kissed my head.

He opened the umbrella. "Wag na. Hindi naman mainit. Sayang 'yung vitamin." I protest that he quickly followed.

"Wala kang work?" I asked.

"Meron. Pero hindi muna ako pupunta. Ayoko muna mag trabaho."

"Tinatamad ka na?"

"Hindi. Edi minsan lang na naman tayong magkikita." I felt him tightened his hold.

"Eh, paano kayo financially kapag ganyan? You better prioritize your work. Think of Maya. Wala akong ipapakain sa'yo. Hindi naman kailangan mag me-meet tayo lagi." I wouldn't want to be a distraction in his life. He's not going to work because of me sounds wrong. I thought of my classmates who prioritize relationship over study. We differ in priorities but it isn't questionable to study is what our priority should be. So, the same with this relationship we're in. I know I'd have to cope with changes kasi it's my first time na magboyfriend ng older sa'kin so he isn't a typical guy who doesn't work for what he has, he provides for his sister and I wouldn't want him to cope with the change of putting me first before anything else which are more important. I want him to do what he's doing before I came to his life. Like working and some other stuff na importante.

"Ate Prechut! Pwede hiram?" this little girl who's always excited to see me. Naabutan namin siyang nanunuod ng cartoon sa loob ng kwarto nila. Seem like she just woke up. She was still on her pajama.

I gave her my phone at agad siyang humiga sa sala. Miguel placed a mug on the table.

"Hindi na ako pinapansin kapag nahawak na niya cellphone mo."

"Let her be. Buti nga she's inclined to do her math. Kasi ako before... Hate ko math hanggang ngayon parin naman. " Napatingin ako sa kanya but seemed like he wasn't listening.

"Tara na, you're gonna cook breakfast sabi mo." I said cutting his stare and pushing him inside the curtains.

"Hindi pa kami nag umagahan. Lutuin ko lang saglit. Ayokong malilipasan ng gutom si Maya."

I watched him switched on the stove and put the frying pan on it.

"Magaling ka talaga magluto?" I asked while he was busy with what he's doing.

Alam ko naman na magaling siya. Gusto ko lang itanong. "Marunong lang."

"Sabi ng Lola ko you cook so well. Meryenda raw tapos ulam."

"Natutunan lang. Ayoko na laging binibili sa bayan ang pinapakain ko kay Maya. Magastos."

He faced me. "Hindi ko rin alam kung malinis ba." He said while putting the garlic in the pan.

Yeah, definitely a point. Gusto ko na naman makialam sa ginagawa niya.

I stood beside him. "Pa-try." What if I learn how to cook? Yeah, I better start learning how to cook. Magpapaturo ako kay Lola.

I tied my hair. He gave me the spatula. He's making garlic rice. I started to stir it. He stood behind me at hinawakan 'yung handle ng pan. Now I feel like a housewife material! Feel ko lang naman. I really need to learn how to cook for him. I should know what his favorites are.

"Ako na?" he asked.

"No, ako nalang. Upo ka nalang kaya? Hahaluin lang naman ito 'di ba?" We sat after he basically help me finished cooking.

How good it feels to eat with the one you love and spend the rest of the day talking about eac other's favorites and dislikes. We talked about life deeper as it went to my aspiration in life and I love that I get to hears his personal take to what I say.
