Kabanata 44: Proposal

"L-Lance" I called him with my worried tone and I see him heaved a sigh.

"A-Are you okay?" he ask even I know that there's an idea running on his mind already when he saw me and Kaspiel together now. Umayos ako ng tayo at ramdam ko pa rin ang mahigpit na hawak ni Kaspiel sa kamay ko.

"I'm fine. Where do you kno----" hindi ko na natuloy ang sasabihin ko ng biglang pumasok si Manang sa pinto na nag-aalala.

"Thiarah! Jusmiyo kamusta ka? Narinig ko na buntis ka raw?" nag-aalalang ani Manang at kitang kita ko ang pagbabago ng mukha ni Lance na mas lalong naging seryoso ngayon.

"I'm leaving n-now." he said and before I can call his name he immediately leave the room.

Napabuga ako ng malalim na hininga. Guilt crept in me and I closed my eyes. It's my fault that I didn't tell him immediately about us.

"Kasalanan ko kung bakit hindi niya alam." nakokonsensiya kong bulong kay Kaspiel.

"You're not together and he knows it." Kaspiel whispered and tucked some strands of my hair in the side of my ears.

"Kahit na, he deserve to know it after all." I whispered and Kaspiel's eyes softened.

"You can talk to him if that's what you want." he said calmly and caress my cheek. Napasinghap naman ako sa gulat dahil sa sinabi niya. Hindi inaasahan na siya ang unang magsasabi noon sa akin.

"T-Talaga?"

"Yeah, but rest first here and after I'll let you talk to him." I can't help to smile after he said it.

"Thank you. He's a friend Kaspiel and I won't have a chance to save the company without his help." I said and he smiled.

"I know but he can't touch you when you talk." he said and I groaned because I thought he won't feel jealous on it.

Nakatitig lang ako kay Sandra na hindi magawang makatingin sa akin ngayon. We're here in the police custody and I came her to talk to her. Magkasalikop ang dalawa niyang kamay sa kandungan niya at marahang ginagalaw iyon.

Huminga ako ng malalim at ako na sana ang magsisimula ng usapan ng maunahan niya ako.

"How did you know that I am the traitor, Thiarah?" it feels unusual to hear him saying my first name.

"It's easy to found out, Sandra. After the night were I almost killed by the man who stop in front of the mansion to leave a weird box, I immediately check the CCTV to see his plate number but that night the footage was ruined suddenly. Sakto pa noong mga oras na pumunta ang lalaki sa tapat ng mansiyon." saad ko at dahan dahang umangat ang tingin niya.

"I was thinking why it suddenly happened then I remember that you're an IT student and you have skills and knowledge in computer. You even fix one of our CCTV when Ate Lucy was still alive. Noong una ayokong isipin na ikaw but when I ask one of my private investigator about you and he found out that you're once an employee under Frederico...I made a conclusion... that you're really the traitor." napasinghap siya sa sinabi ko at kita kong nanginig ang mga labi.

"How could you do that after all the kindness of Ate Lucy." mahinahon kong saad at hindi mapigilan na malasahan ang pait sa labi.

"I... just love Frederico." she closed her eyes. "... and I done everything he wants in return of his love for me." I gasped in disbelief and wonder why many girls like her are falling in love with that man Frederico.

Hindi ko pa rin maintindihan hanggang ngayon kung bakit maraming babae ang nahuhulog at nagmamahal sa kanya. Kahit wala naman siyang nagagawang tama at puro kapangyarihan lang ang gusto. I still wondering what charm he has to make this girls crazy over him.
