Jon's pov
I shivered the slightest bit in Gotham's cold rain, wrapping my arms around myself to provide some warmth. Bats really had to give me the job on a rainy day huh? I thought, slightly irritated. Though I'm quite honoured to be handling such a job. My assignment was to track down then catch an assassin that recently entered the area a day or so ago.
The assassin's target was unknown. Batman was working on a case on the Joker. His three sons were out of town and Superman was handling business back in Metropolis.
"Superboy, any sign of them?" Batman asked over comm. I pressed the small device hidden behind my black locks.
"No not yet." I reported, checking the watch Batman had given me. At that moment, something caught my eye. More like some one.
"Hold up. I think I see them." I said.
"Persue." Batman ordered. I did as I was told, following the person with my eyes and flying after them. I adjusted the black mask over my eyes. It was like a domino mask but without the white slits. Just the black rim.
The assassin weas running across the building tops towards Wayne Manor , making sure to stay in the shadows. I admit I lost them once or twice but soon found them again.
I need a closer look...
I slowly drifted closer to their figure. They came to a sudden stop. I hid behind a black chimney that was located a little to their right, watching them through the bricks with my x-ray vision. I could indeed see the assassin was a male.
He wore a black and white suit, black boots and black gloves. A single katana hung at his side. I could see he had black hair and I nicely toned figure. The suit he wore hugged his skin tightly and did wonders for defining his muscles. He appeared to be rather short. Shorther than me anyway. I couldn't see his face from my angle.
I held my breath as he stood still, looking out ahead of him. On hand rested on the hilt of his katana and the other hung at his side.
"I know you're there Mister Hero~" He cooed. I narrowed my eyes. The male's voice came off as silky and smooth, almost eerie. The perfect voice for a professional assassin.
"We don't have all night, come on out a fight me." He said. I weighed the pros and cons of the situation. "Unless you're too scared to." He said. I clenched my fists and stepped out from behind the pillar.
I levitated slightly off the ground, my cape blew outwards behind me dramatically. I locked my gaze on the male before me.
He turned his head and I nearly gasped.
He wore no mask of any sort and was very handsome looking. The moon cast a glow over his skin, illuminating his sharp cheekbones and defined jawline. What fascinated me most were his eyes.
They were a sharp emerald green, the moon's reflection glittered in his orbs as he quickly looked me up and down. The corners of his mouth twitched upwards into a devilish smile.
"Hmm. I was expecting the Caped Crusader himself. Not some knock-off Superman." He teased. I ignore the statement.
"That's enough out of you." I snapped. The male smiled, placing a gloves finger to his lips.
"Is it now?"
"Yes. You've probably heard this before, but you're coming with me." I said. The ravenette rolled his eyes, dropping the finger from his lips.
"As much as I'd love to, I have placed to be, people to kill..." He trailed off. "If you let me go without trouble, I'll spare your life." The assassin placed a hand on the hilt of his katana, fully turning his body towards me.
"Don't threaten me." I said through gritted teeth. The male grinned.
"Who are you to tell me what to do?" Without a second thought, I dashed forward. I raised my fist in an attempt to punch but the male blocked it as expected. We quickly engaged in combat and I soon released I needed to start using my powers. He was obviously more skilled in hand to hand combat than I was.
I suddenly had an idea.
Without any warning, I crashed into the male, knocking him to the ground. Using my super strength, I pinned him down to the roof top.
"What the hell are you doing!?" He shouted. I grabbed his wrists pinning them above his head and straddled his waist. The position we were in was indeed very awkward but a hero's gotta do what a hero's gotta do.
"Gotcha." I smirked down at him. The ravenette's glare faded into a small grin.
"Hmm, I knew you were checking me out but I didn't know you were that eager." He teased.
"Wha- no! Hell no!" I exclaimed, slightly flustered. Heat rushed to my cheeks. I gathered both of his wrists in one hand and lifted the other to my ear to call Batman.
"Sorry I can't let you do that." The assassin smirked. I glanced at him. Using a sudden burst of strength, he released one hand from my hold and grabbed my collar.
Before I could say anything, he yanked me downwards, pressing his lips against mine. What the hell!? I couldn't help but be attracted to the kiss. The assassin's lips were soft and slightly cold. He had angled the kiss just right that our lips fit together. I caught myself about to kiss back. Bad Jon! He's trying to distract you!
I grabbed the wrist of the hand still holding my collar. I pinned it back above his head and pulled away out of the kiss, slightly panting for breath.
"What the heck are you doing?" My voice came out lighter than I intended.
"Stalling of course." He smirked. He glanced behind me. "Hello mother."
"Wha-" Before I could finish, I received a harsh blow to the back of my head from a metal object. My muscles went slack and I loosened my grip on the assassin. He pushed me off and stood up.
I was drifting out of consciousness as I laid on the ground. The assassin dusted himself off.
"Perfect timing." He said. The woman -his mother- turned to me. A hood covered her face.
"You were reckless and had to resort to that method." She said, light irritation in her voice. The assassin scoffed.
"So? He's out of our way now." The assassin glanced at me. "Sadly though, he's quite handsome." If I wasn't about to pass out, I'd turn red as the S on my chest. His mother sighed.
"No matter. What's done is done. We should leave before Batman shows up." She said, walking out of my line of vision. The assassin squatted down next to me, cocking his head to the side. He smiled.
"Until we meet again Superboy." He said happily before delivering a quick blow to my neck. Everything went black with my last thoughts consisting of 'Damn it'.
