You know it's true when they say you can hear everything when you're in a coma. You can't move or speak but you can hear everything.

And a dying Damian Wayne knew this.

He heard his brothers speaking to his unconscious self, before breaking down into tears. Even Jason had quietly cried by his side.

He heard his Father talking to him and sometimes just barely felt his hand being held.

He heard Alfred speaking to him, giving him updates on how his family, friends and of course his pets were doing.

He even heard his Mother whisper a few words to him and kiss his forehead. After that, she never returned.

He heard his boyfriend Jon Kent sobbing hysterically everyday by his side, begging him to wake up. Jon gripped the smaller's hand tightly as he sobbed and ranted to the dying boy each day.

Damian didn't know how long he had been in a coma. Weeks? Months? A year? He couldn't tell.

He couldn't stand hearing people cry over him, especially Jon. He wanted to 'wake up' so bad and wrap his arms around the superboy.

He tried so hard but his body wouldn't cooperate. So he was stuck, heart sinking in pain as he listened to everyone's cries.

Damian could also hear his heart monitor beeping from beside him, his heartbeat slowing more and more every few days.

"D-Dami... please wake up!" Jon sobbed, gripping the unconscious boy's hand. "Please! You're heart is slowing everyday and I'm scared it'll stop. Please come back to me!" Jon cried.

Damian was crying eternally, speaking to Jon in his head. But alas, Jon couldn't hear him. Even with super hearing.

One day he heard Jon shouting hysterically at who he presumed to be doctors.

"No please! Please, just a little longer!" Jon cried.

"I'm sorry sir but I don't think he's coming back. He'll be taken off life support." The doctor said. Damian's heart dropped to his stomach.

"Please Doctor! He'll come back!" Jon shouted in tears. There was the sound of moving feet and voices.

"Jon, Jon c'mon." Dick's familiar voice cooed, straining to keep himself from crying.

"NO! He has to wake up! Damian you have to wake up!" Jon screamed. There was muffled shouting and Damian assumed someone had covered Jon's mouth.

"I love you Dami!" Jon managed to shout before Damian heard a door slam closed.

Someone sighed.

"I'm sorry kid but your time is up." A Doctor said. Damian was trying so hard to force himself to move, to speak to do anything but he felt so tired... so tired and his hearing was fading out.

"Apologies Mister Wayne."

Within seconds, the heart monitor beeped loudly, signalling there was no more beat, and the plug was pulled.
