“I’ve been asking you about that story…” He said, almost a whisper. 

I smiled, weakly. “I know… Ikukuwento ko na sa’yo. Even the parts that I didn’t tell the kids at the charity.” I told him. 

Umigting ang kanyang bagang bago siya tumango. A slight smile forming on the corner of his lips. “We should get inside first,” he suggested, slightly nodding his head towards the house. 

Tumango ako. Nauna siyang lumabas at naglakad paikot para sana pagbuksan ako ngunit ako na ang nagbukas ng pintuan at kaagad na bumaba. The moment I closed the passenger’s door, my feet froze on the ground as my whole body suddenly felt stiff the moment I saw the familiar wicked man approaching towards us and his hands were shoved inside the pockets of his hoodie. 

My head starts spinning, my pulse beating crazy as the fear starts invading every inch of me. Kaagad kong nilingon si Colton na natigilan din at kunot noong nakatingin sa gawi ng lalaki. 

I quickly ran and stood in front of Colton, my arms spreading apart widely as I face this wicked man who was about to make my life miserable again. 

“Diyan ka lang!” I screamed, my voice shaking. He stopped but then after a few second, he was about to take another step forward but I immediately stop him. 

His merciless eyes drew into mine and I felt my whole body began uncontrollably shaking. 

“No… Please no...” Sunod-sunod ang ginawa kong pag-iling. “Parang-awa mo na h’wag mong sasaktan ang asawa ko… Please don’t hurt my husband! Wala siyang kasalanan sa’yo… Wala kaming kasalanan sa’yo. Please… Tama na. Nagmamakaawa ako sa’yo…” 

“Jess,” Colton tried to push me by the shoulders but I firmly stood on the ground, shielding him. 

“Who are you?!” I heard Colton said. “Dammit! Where are the guards?!” Sinubukan pa akong ilayo ni Colton but I kept on coming back in front of him so that I could shield him. 

I can’t afford to lose him. 

The guy just stood there, looking at me beg. His hands are still inside the pockets of his jacket and I’m losing it. It felt like I was in one of my nightmares again and I wish this was just a nightmare… 

“Parang-awa mo na… Nagmamakaawa ako sa’yo. H’wag mong sasaktan ang asawa ko please…. Please… Not my husband… Maawa ka naman sa’kin… W-Wala na lahat sa’kin. A-Ang asawa ko na lang ang meron ako kaya parang awa mo na. H’wag mo siyang sasaktan… Please... ” I cried, begging him. Halos lumuhod na ako. I kept on begging him, hoping the he would listen. 

But all my pleads and begs suddenly turned into a scream when I heard a loud bang. My heart began to pound even harder, my hands starts covering my ears and the tears keeps falling from my eyes even if they were tightly shut. 

Wala akong marinig, wala akong ibang maramdaman kung hindi ang panginginig ng katawan ko. It was as if I was back again inside the woods, helpless and hopeless. 

“Hey, hey… Baby.” 

I felt hands holding my shoulder, slightly budging me. “Jess! Jessica! Jessica Claire!” Tila ba nagising lang ako nang bigla kong marinig ang malakas na sigaw ni Colton na paulit-ulit na tinatawag ang pangalan ko habang patuloy pa rin ito sa marahang pagyugyog sa akin hanggang sa tuluyan ko nang marinig ito. 

I slowly opened my eyes, my arms folded on my chest, and I saw his face, strained with fear and worry. He immediately cupped my face, removing some strands of my hair on my face.
