Jisoo lets out a shaky breath. Fingers gripping tightly onto her phone as she tries to decipher what in the world was going on with the picture that was sent to her. It was a photograph of Jungkook and Tzuyu, hands intertwined as they walked down an empty sidewalk. Despite the two wearing masks, she could tell that they were both smiling. She could feel jealousy seethe through her heart; and the longer she stares at the photo, the more angry she feels.

"No..." She muttered to herself, taking in deep breaths. It was way too early for her to jump into conclusions. The unknown sender must've been a huge douchebag if they had to send this to her when the scandal was still fresh; when her emotions were vulnerable and her mental stability was wavering. Jisoo turns off her phone and tosses it to the other side of the bed before laying down on the soft mattress.

'That can't be true, right?' Jisoo thought to herself, staring blankly at the ceiling as she tries to sort out the emotions she was feeling right now.

She could recall seeing Tzuyu at award shows and would always find her to be attractive no matter what. The younger was tall, pretty, and was blessed with much talent—I mean, have you seen her performance during ISAC? Tzuyu was practically showered with blessings. There were so many good qualities in her that she couldn't help but be envious.

Then she remembers how her boyfriend is literally entitled the 'Golden Maknae' for practically being good at everything. It was no wonder that the two used to date. Realization then struck Jisoo, 'That's right... They used to date.. So that photo could be from the past.' She thought to herself. There was no way Jungkook would go out of his way to backstab her, and besides, she could recall that he and Tzuyu had some closure.

'So there's nothing to worry about, right?' Jisoo reassured herself before getting up. She decided that she was going to enjoy a peaceful lunch with her bestfriend.

Jungkook released a breath that he didn't even know he was holding. The talk with Si-hyuk was about 3 gruelling hours. It mostly consisted of the older telling him that he should understand the severity of the situation and how he shouldn't be posting on social media for the meantime. The latter was just glad that he didn't bring up the topic of breaking up. He was only told that BigHit and YG have arranged a press conference for them to clear things up.

He then fishes his phone out of his pocket. His heart leaps in joy upon seeing that Jisoo had messaged him;

chu 🐰
kook? call me when you see this message, we have to talk. i love you 💖

It was only one message, yet, it managed to brighten up his day. A smile graces his lips as he quickly dialled in Jisoo's phone number. It took atleast three rings before the other line was picked up;

"Kook?"

His smiles becomes wider after hearing her voice, as if a huge wave of relief washed over him.

"Hi Chu..." He meekly responds, cheeks dusting pink upon using the nickname, "How are you?"

"I'm fine, Kook." Her voice slightly wavered, as if she was hesitant to answer him. This small detail doesn't go unnoticed by Jungkook as the younger frowns.

"Really? Well, you don't sound fine.." His tone was laced with concern, eyebrows furrowed as he frowns. The elevator door then comes to a halt as the younger finally reaches his desired floor. Jungkook hops off the cubicle, awaiting Jisoo's response.

It was silent for awhile; somehow, the soft breathing and faint noises in the background made Jungkook feel anxious. This wasn't like Jisoo at all—he knew something was up.

"It's nothing." She utters out, however, the male could sense a hint of nervousness in her tone. He then hears the soft shuffling in the background, which was fueling his intuition even more.

He frowns at the response. "Chu, you know you can tell me anything, right?"

There it was again, the agonizing silence that followed right after. At this point, Jungkook knew that there was something wrong. He could feel his heart pounding against his rib cage as he tries to bare with the suffocating silence. Then Jisoo spoke in a rather soft, but slightly wavering voice, "I don't know about that Jungkook."

"What?" Jungkook voice was barely audible, but the female could catch what he was saying. The confusion was evident in his tone, and Jisoo couldn't help but feel like she stepped on a land mine.

"I'm just saying that I don't have to share everything to you." Jisoo explains softly, hoping that the male would understand, "There are some things that are best left to be kept in the dark."

Jungkook's breath hitches, slightly taken aback with what he was hearing now. He didn't like how his gut churned; it was basically telling him that he wasn't trustworthy enough for Jisoo. He sucks in  air and finally musters up the courage to speak, "You know that communication is crucial at this point, right Chu?"

"I know... But- nevermind." A sigh escapes her lips, "I'll be hanging up now.. Bye Kook, I love you." She says in the driest way as possible before hanging up, not even giving the male a chance to rebut.

Jungkook stands there for awhile before finally setting down his phone. He sighs exasperatedly, running his fingers through his hair. Despite dating someone before, the male was still having trouble understanding his significant other. This was a relationship he was willing to keep for a long run.

He fully trusts Jisoo as well, which is why he finds it so worrisome that Jisoo's trust in him was slightly wavering. Jungkook didn't like that at all—not one bit. With one last sigh, Jungkook proceeds to trudge down the empty hall, feeling his heart growing heavy with each step.
