leaves - an original poem

18 7 3

Your leaves shrivel up,

Withering, dying,

Coloured by the sun,

Drinking up the rain,

My leaves are evergreen,

Though they graze the shadows,

Unable to crinkle,

Even without the sun.

The synopsis of this poem is about a person who falls in love with another, though their partner's love for them slowly fades, they still love them as ever. The narrator of the story's love for the other is undying and compassionate, whether the partners does not last and doesn't treat the narrator as they deserve. Therefore the love for one another is portrayed as 'leaves'.
