snow - an original poem

Snow sprinkles the world like a dusting of sugar draping a plain cake

Nesting in the creases of the tree's leaves

Layering the grass underfoot in a blanket of frost

Sliding off house's roofs onto the paths outside

Transforming the world into a wonderland of crisp white

My skin prickles from the cold

My fingers numb, electrifying at the touch

Snow

What a beautiful thing
