I feel like I'm in a movie

My life flashing past me

Like a bolt of lightning

I'm in a fast car

Rain streaking down the window

Blurred with my tears

Trickling down my cheeks

The salty taste making me scrunch up my face

Where has the time gone?

I'm learning to ride my bike

My feet tripping on the pedals

Years flash past and I'm

Speeding off into the sunset

I stand at the door of a building

Squeezing my Mum's hand

Begging her to stay

I'm making my first schoolfriends

Our first fights

I'm studying for my first test

Anxiously tapping my pen on the desk

My first love

It doesn't last long

I'm witnessing my first heartbreak

Shards from my heart breaking

Scattering across the room

Oh, what a few words across text can do

To someone's mental health

I'm noticing the shadows around me

The sunlight fades, replaced with light

Blinding lights

It's my first performance

I arrange my fingers on the frets

Strumming the chords

Except, no sound amplifies from the speakers

I feel my face heating up

I'm as red as a tomato

My breathing becomes irregular

I wake up with a jolt and stare at myself in the mirror

Pimples sprinkle my face like a graveyard of stars

My eyes red and swollen

Where has the time gone?
