It was mother's Day and I was sitting on the porch with cloud, my little sister. We sat on the step, Cloud on my lap laying her head on my chest, almost asleep even though it's 6 PM.

We don't like mother's day, we don't have a mom, our dad killed her when I was 6 and cloud was 3. He killed her in front of us, and threw away her body, we were forced to clean up the blood, now we have been abused for 7 years with no end in sight.

Our mom was a sweet, kind, and most loyal women I've ever met. She always cared for us, and made sure we were ok, now that's all just a dream to us.

I heard someone coming up towards us, it was soarin, I looked up at him and he sat down next to us.

"Hi girls, why are you sitting out here"  He asked

"We just wanted to come out" I said stroking Clouds hair

"Why aren't you with your mom" He asked

"We... Don't have one... " I said, I heard a sniffle, and looked at my sister, she was almost crying, which made me want to cry.

"C'mere you two" He said and wrapped his arms around us.

I sniffled, and heard cloud crying.

When he pulled away cloud immediately grabbed onto me and sobbed. I held her close.

"Come on, you girls are coming home with me" Soarin said

"Really why" I asked

"I don't want you two to be alone, plus I want you to come with me" He explained

I smiled slightly.

"Come on," He said standing up

"Alright," I said carrying my sister who was almost knocked out.

I forgot to mention, we were outside because our Dad kicked us out after he beat us up, he cut us a few times, punched us and other stuff that was just a blur.

We went back to his house I saw his mom and sister outside, I had still been carrying my sister.

"Hi soarin, hello girls, what makes you stop by" Mrs.Skies asked us

"Um we just wanted to come over, if that's ok..." I said

"Oh it's ok, why aren't you with your mom?" She asked

"Um... She's gone" I said with a sniffle

"I'm so sorry I didn't know" She said

"It's ok, we were both young I was 6 and cloud was 3" I said

"Oh... " She said

Skylar can up to use, "hi!"she said very energetic

Cloud just waved,

" Hi Skylar "I said

"Is she ok" She asked.

"Ya, she'll be alright, she gets like this a lot" I said stroking Clouds hair.

"Oh, cloud stop being so pouty" Skylar said

Cloud looked away,

"Come sit" Mrs.Skies said

I went over and sat on the step, "thanks again for letting us stay"

"It's no biggie" Soarin said

I smiled and looked at cloud, she was ready to fall asleep

"Come on is she really gonna fall asleep" Skylar said sitting next to cloud

"I'll play with her" Cloud whispered to me

"Cloud you're almost out, you really want to go play with Skylar" I said in a low tone

"Uh huh"

"Alright" I said

Skylar cheered and dragged cloud off

"It's wrong for you girls to grow up without a mom figure" Mrs.Skies said

"Ya it's not right" Soarin said

"We get by alright" I said

"Especially now, you girls need one," She replied

"I guess" I said

We continued to talk, I actually forget what we talked about, I just remember feeling weak.

"Skylar what happened" Soarin questioned and got up and went behind me,

I looked Skylar had been helping cloud back to us, soarin had ran over to get her.

"What happened" I ask going over too

"We were just looking at the clouds when I heard her moaning" Skylar said.

"Alright," I said picking cloud up "thank you Skylar"

"No problem, I just hope she's ok"

"I think she will be" Soarin said and we all went back to the porch.

I sat back down on the steps and rocked my sister in my arms. She was almost asleep.

"Baby," I said cloud opened her eyes and hugged me.

I hugged back, "go to sleep baby you're exhausted"

I suddenly heard a soft snore coming over from her and smiled

"Why was she so tired and why do you look so tired" Soarin asked

"Do I have to tell" I said, I can't lie to them!

"Ya you do" Skylar said

"Um I don't think Skylar wants to hear it" I said,

"Skylar go inside for a second" Mrs.Skies said she did

" Um... Me and cloud sorta... Um... Get abused... We did like about a hour ago... and it just drains us"I said holding cloud tight

I heard there gasps

"Why didn't you tell us" Mrs.Skies said

"Cause no one asked, and our dad told me he would kill us if we did," I said.

"He won't he'll be locked up before he can" Soarin said

"Thanks" I said

Mrs.Skies hugged us "you're staying here for a while" She said

"I think I like that," I said, "happy mother's Day"
