She ain't who you thought
Tough girl exterior
Heart covered in frost.
Deep down
However
She has a heart of gold
Just looking to be loved
But afraid to be hurt.
He ain't who she thought
Innocent and pure boy
Heart worn
On his sleeve.
Below the surface
He's lost and afraid
Scared he isn't enough
For her.
Apart
They are just fragments
Shells of
The people they could be.
Together
They complete each other.
An obstacle
At every turn
Hand in hand
Through thick and thin
Their love never once wavers.
