Tsukishima Kei's POV

Before going home, I passed by one of the markets and bought some things- some of those being butter, milk, eggs, cream, sugar, and strawberries.

I headed towards the kitchen and placed the plastic bags on the counter.

A sigh went past my lips as I unbuttoned the cuffs and collar of my polo. I rolled up my sleeves and took out bowls and everything else I needed.

I grabbed [Name]'s cookbook that I placed inside the bag and brought it out.

I chuckled as I reread the note on the first page of the book.

This is the property of [Full Name].

If Kei's the one reading this, I know what you're looking for. Page 17.

I flipped the pages and stopped at the seventeenth page. The page where the recipe for the strawberry shortcake is found. But, the whole recipe didn't have the one the book initially provided.

There was a large white paper over the page and on it were the handwritten notes by [Name].

I smiled as I remembered how she made it her goal to make the best strawberry shortcake ever to exist.

"I better get started then."

I took out everything I bought and grabbed the needed amount of eggs and sugar.

After cracking the eggs and placing them in the bowl along with the sugar, I started whisking it using the machine I had.

I continued to follow the step by step procedure she wrote. One of them was to whisk until the whole mixture was fluffy, thick, and glossy. I started slowing down once the batter started getting pale and fluffy.

I added half of the flour and with the whisk, I folded the batter gently but thoroughly.

I chuckled as I remembered how [Name] used to scold me for being too harsh with the batter.

"Don't do that you dummy! Do you want to murder the batter or something?!" [Name] said, with her arms crossed over her shoulder. "Do it like this."

She grabbed my hand and held the bowl with her other hand. Gently, she guided me on how to whisk the batter.

I glanced to the side- the place where she'd usually stand while watching me attempt baking.

'I miss you, [Name].'

I added the rest of the flour and mixed it along with the butter and milk.

My hands started to shake as I remembered another thing she told me before- her secret special ingredient.

"Don't forget to add my special ingredient," [Name] said, the back of her hips against the counter.

"What is it?"

"My love for you," she said, giggling. With both her index fingers, she drew a heart in the air.

"That's cheesy as hell," I said.

"I know," she said with a smile. "But it always works so well."

I grit my teeth as my tears blur my eyes- tears I thought I already used up.

'Damn it, [Name]. How am I gonna add that when you're not here?'
