-thinking too much-

"petey?"

"yeah, honey?" pete looked up at the screen from his homework. "everything alright?" he asked softly.

pets noticed the quietness of patrick, it was not a hard thing to miss- patrick always loved to talk during their facetime study sessions. today he was rather quiet.

"i-i've just been thinking a lot..." patrick mumbled, glancing down at his hands.

"what about, baby?"

"umm... w-what if I really am a girl? what if I'm just faking this all and I'm not really trans?"

pete frowned a bit, not entirely sure how to respond to that. he had never once doubted patrick in any of these decisions, but he knew patrick thought about it a lot. he knew that patrick sometimes invalidated himself, that coming from a lot of others who have done it for him- caused him to doubt himself.

"baby," pete started softly. "we've gone through this once or twice before, right?"

patrick nods. "y-yeah..."

"you've experienced dysphoria, you've been through the whole thing of questioning and everything. I can't tell you what or who you are, but if that's how you're feeling, then I'm sure you were right the first time. why have you been thinking about it anyway? did someone say something? or is your brain just being mean again?"

patrick nodded a little, listening quietly to pete before just shrugging. "my brain, I guess..." he mumbled. "petey...?"

"yeah, honey?"

"umm... e-even if I wasn't a boy..., y-you'd still love me, right?"

"of course I would, 'trick. I'd love you no matter what. I promise that."

patrick nodded again, whispering a soft thank you.

"don't thank me, baby. there's no need."

patrick only nodded again, unsure of what to say.

after a moment, pete spoke up again. "did that help any? make you feel any better at all?"

"yeah, it did a lot. thanks,"

"of course, patty." pete smiled some. "I love you, baby boy."

patrick blushed, smiling up at pete. "I love you too, dumby." he giggled.
