As jet-lagged as Jungkook was, Lisa's mention of an after party was all it took for Taehyung and Jimin to convince him into another night of clubbing.
Not that he could complain, really.
Unlike Yoongi, who hadn't anticipated much besides the main event and was forced to borrow one of Jimin's form-fitting suits, Jungkook had come prepared.
Just in case, he'd told himself while packing his luggage, knowing first-hand of how spontaneous Lisa could be. Seeing as it was an occasion worth celebrating, Jungkook knew he wouldn't have turned her down anyway— how could he when it came to Lisa?
One look, one smile and he was sold.
This case was no different and when Jungkook found her leaning against the doorframe, observing him as he adjusted the watch on his wrist, he knew he wouldn't have it any other way.
"You look nice," Lisa complimented with a nod of her head, dark eyes fixated on his defined collarbones, exposed by the shirt's low neckline, before averting them towards the clock behind him.
His, however, remained on her.
After they'd left the main venue, Lisa had suggested using her hotel room (provided beforehand by Celine) to freshen up before heading to the after party. Despite being doubtful there'd be enough room for everyone, the group accompanied the model into the heart of the city only to find themselves in a room at least twice the size of an ordinary one with a picturesque view to match.
There was no doubt that Celine treated their muse well and now that she was in front of him, he believed it was only rightful.
While her earlier look embodied elegance, Jungkook found himself equally attracted to the one that exuded glamour and brought out her natural charisma.
The shimmering, lilac dress wasn't one he'd typically associate with Lisa, knowing how she rarely strayed from red when given the chance. But pair a sweetheart neckline and sequined straps on a piece matching the sparkle in her eyes and there couldn't be anything more fitting— oh, did he mention it was backless?
He must've been staring in awe, feeling starstruck for the millionth time until Lisa's tug on his hand brought him out of his trance.
"You're taking forever," She teased lightly, a knowing smile playing on her lips while Jungkook rolled his eyes, unable to hide his fondness for the blonde as he intertwined their hands together.
Forever, he thought to himself in amusement as Lisa drew small circles onto the back of his hand with her thumb.
It felt like they were halfway there.
.
In the midst of flashing lights and intrusive paparazzi, they finally made it inside the venue and although Jungkook offered to wait as Lisa greeted her coworkers, she insisted on him staying by her side.
"It's the first time I've brought someone with me," She admitted, still holding his hand as they weaved through the crowd. "I like having you around."
"I'm glad," Jungkook chuckled, eyeing the dance floor before they settled into a booth their friends had already claimed as their own.
"I might like this better than rosé," Chaeyoung mused, downing another glass of French 76 as Jimin rolled his eyes and pushed a plate of appetizers towards her instead.
"Don't knock yourself out," He chided in spite of the small smile that overtook his features at the sight of the girl digging into his order without hesitation.
Even miles away, the group's interactions were no different to the ones at home. Occasional bickering, posing for each other's Polaroids and light-hearted teasing between thoughts on the dinner contributed to their dynamic.
"This is nice," Lisa smiled, thankful for the joy that enveloped her in an industry where she'd been taught to remain unfazed and cold. It gave her more than what fame could ever and as she turned to look at Jungkook, a proposition in mind, she discovered his eyes had been on her all along.
Brimming with amusement, it was as if he'd read her mind when his eyes drifted to the dance floor once again and his hand came to rest on hers.
"Well, lead the way, sweetheart," He teased, following Lisa as she intertwined their hands.
.
The ambience was different and so were their intentions as they swayed together, much different than the last time they were in this position.
Something had shifted.
That much was evident from the way Jungkook's hands rested on her waist, how Lisa's eyes never strayed from his and how the smile on both their faces only grew as time went on.
Maybe it was because they were in the city of love or maybe it was because they'd finally put a name on their attraction towards each other. Either way, Lisa found herself wishing that they could stay in that moment, especially as Jungkook's face neared hers.
This time, it was Lisa who closed the distance between them, causing Jungkook to hum in delight as he cupped her cheek—brushing the soft skin with his thumb.
When they pulled back moments later, warmth coursed through her body at Jungkook's gaze.
His emotions were always so vivid—so easily reflected in those eyes of his.
The pure adoration made her want to drown in his affection, to take a step closer and taste it for herself.
A part of her wanted to selfishly consume it and mark him as her's to cherish. The sane part of her reminded that Jungkook was human and feelings were subject to change. After all, a college fling would be incomparable to the one he'd settle down with. It was bitter of her to wish otherwise.
Reluctantly, she tore her eyes away from his with a small smile and the excuse of having to go to the bathroom. Jungkook nodded, releasing his hands from her waist and assuring that he's only a call away if things go wayward.
Once she's inside, however, Lisa leaned against the stall in attempts to ease her nerves.
With the scent of Jungkook and the sight of his devotion lingering in her mind, she succumbed to her urges and bit the inside of her cheek, feeling the metallic taste of her own blood on her tongue while her body fought to heal the wound.
It was nothing compared to the capsules she'd forgotten to pack nor the drinks she'd left behind in LA and especially not to how she imagined a certain ravenette to taste but it would do.
To refrain was for the best.
