So, to put it lightly, the game was nothing like hide and seek.
Andrew had been put in a match with Victor, Emily, and Tracy. He didn't really know anyone but Victor, and he didn't understand the game, but he was at least willing to give it a shot.
He glanced around his starting position. They had picked a map they nicknamed Arm's Factory. It was flooded with dark grey colors, which would give him an advantage hiding compared to people like Victor. He kind of felt bad for the blonde; that red outfit would be a sore thumb.
After a bit of wandering around, he ended up finding one of the "computer thingies," which was really just a cipher machine. He went over to it and nervously typed on the keys. After a few moments, sparks of blue electricity jumped out of the machine, making him squeak and jump back. He was a bit clumsy with stuff like this, and he didn't have the greatest of vision, so he had to work slow and steady to make sure he didn't screw up.
It didn't take long until he discovered one of the "hunters" in this game. He suddenly felt his heart beating out of his chest. He looked down, kind of shocked to see it glowing a pinkish red color and visible from his view. He froze in place, not really knowing what to do.
"Get out of here!" Andrew turned to his side to see Victor, putting his finger up to his mouth to motion to be quiet. He grabbed Andrew's forearm and pulled him behind a wall right as the hunter turned the corner that would have been jumpscare material if he was still on that cipher.
Victor frantically looked around, seeing that there wasn't much time before the hunter noticed their trail. He led Andrew to a red locker and pushed him in, taking a quick look around before running away. He flinched as a bird flew up from beside him, catching the hunter's attention.
Andrew kept silent, look to his left to see the hunter come into view. He had this creepy mask on and red casual-formal attire, along with a small black top hat. He was leaning more towards the pudgy side. Andrew was never really fond of clowns, but this person was much, much worse than any one he had seen before. A red light shined in front of the hunter, probably to notify to a "survivor" his approximate location and direction he was facing.
Well, the man saw Victor, and since it had been a few seconds, Victor's trail was the only one that remained. "Focus on decoding!" Victor said as he ran away, the man pursuing close behind.
After a few moments, Andrew welled up enough courage to step out of the locker and look around again. He didn't have the heartbeat like before, but he could still see the red light in the distance. It looked like Victor was using a ring-around-the-rosie technique against this guy, and he was actually doing a pretty good job at it, given that there was one of those pallet things; the clown man would always swing when he got to the pallet, and Victor would never stop to throw it down, so it would stun the clown for a few seconds before he continued his pursue.
He nervously walked over to the chipher machine, hearing two pops in the distance. He guessed that that was two out of five ciphers down already.
He looked down half way through decoding to see a little dog walk up to him. The dog had a letter on his back, and he seemed to be sent to find Andrew and give the letter to him. He didn't even need to bend down to the dog; it just jumped up and landed the letter in his hands, then ran away out of sight. After reading the letter, he noticed it was from that Victor boy. He also felt a little inspiration for decoding, and noticed that he was doing it faster than before.
He could have sworn he heard a scream a few seconds later. In the distance, he could see Emily collapse to the ground, the clown towering her with a sadistic grin on his face. Andrew hesitated before running away from the cipher he was at. "Don't move, I'm coming!"
The poor girl was strapped to a chair and the countdown immediately started. That stupid clown was camping the chair, raising his rocket stick thing in the air and waiting for any survivor to get close.
Andrew decided to dig underground with his shovel, holding his breath as he burrowed his way over to the chair. The Joker noticed this, and not really knowing what was happening, examined the dirt trail. Andrew circled a few times, needing the clown person to hit him so that he could save Emily before time ran out. It took the clown until she was half way to finally take a swing at Andrew. He already saw this attack coming and blocked it with his shovel, coming up to the surface and untying Emily. He decided that him bodyblocking would be the smart thing here, since he hadn't been in a chair yet and she was already hurt.
The clown smiled and started his dash attack; he must have been skilled at using this, because he circled around Andrew and hit Emily, the girl he was supposed to be protecting for the moment. Andrew cursed at himself as he ran away, not wanting to get hit by the hunter.
Finishing the cipher he had been trying to work on all game so far, he looked up to see the chair's countdown ending and it being sent up into the sky, the girl screaming, "Get out of here!" as she flew out of sight. Andrew looked down, knowing that he could have prevented it. A few seconds later, he heard a second scream. He didn't even know that Tracy had been in a chair at the same time on the opposite side of the map.
He popped the cipher and thought for a moment before sirens went off, lights turning on at two locations on the map. The exit gates were available to be opened. He ran over to the closest one and started entering in the password.
A few seconds later, he felt himself freeze up as he saw the hunter's red light. But, it wasn't going for him. It was going for Victor. The clown had glowing red eyes now, which really didn't help the stress part.
He paused opening the door and turned around, looking for Victor. He then heard a muffled scream and Victor fall down. It looked like he was trying to rip around the corner to avoid being hit, but he was too late. He looked up at Andrew with those sad eyes and said, "Get out of here!"
Andrew looked down, again seeing the little dog jump up to him. It was a letter titled "hope." He glanced around, noticing the so called "dungeon" that the survivors talked about. He looked back at Victor and nodded, taking off to the red door on the ground.
Victor ended up getting chaired and launched into the sky, and it was just Andrew and the clown left. Not cool.
He frantically glanced behind him as he saw the clown start his dash attack. But, the dungeon was right there. Just a few more steps.
He let out a sad little scream, feeling a heavy force crash into his back. The clown. He had caught up with him from behind with that stupid dash attack.
Already feeling a bit of crimson leak through the cloth on his back, he crawled a few seconds before throwing himself into the dungeon, only seeing that clown's twisted grin before being surrounded by darkness.
