Victor has a few different thoughts on his mind. He was going to talk to Andrew and Luca about it, but seeing that he almost always talked to them, he decided it would be best to talk to someone else that day.
He had a few options of people to go to. Thinking of the different people on the manor him and the other got along with, he thought of who would be best for the situation.
The first people he could think of were Emma, Mike, Eli, and Aesop. The group got along decently with each of them. There were a few others, but again, those were the first names that came to his mind.
After some consideration, he made his way down to the embalmer's room and cautiously knocked on the door. Aesop was never good with interacting with other people, so he had to approach gently.
"Aesop? It's Victor. Is it okay with you if I talk to you about something?" Victor asked, hoping that Aesop would accept his invitation.
A few moments of silence later, he could hear a quiet, slightly muffled "sure" from the other side of the door.
Aesop nervously went over to the door, hesitating as he looked down at the doorknob. He wasn't really in the mood to see anyone. He put his gloved hand back down to his side and muttered, "Is it alright if we j-just... talk through the door?"
"Yeah, that's fine." Victor sat down so he was leaning against and looking at the door, and he could feel that Aesop did the same.
For Victor, talking to Aesop was actually somewhat similar to talking to Andrew. Aesop just had a lot more anxiety than the gravekeeper, but they both generally had the same thoughts about subjects.
"Well, uh, I made some new letters," Victor started out. "I don't know if they're that good, though. I going to give one of them on Andrew. A get well soon letter."
"And the other one?"
"Hm? Oh, y-yeah, that one." Victor slid the other letter under the door so Aesop could see it. He studied the letter for a few moment before sliding it back to Victor.
"It looks good," Aesop commented. "You're a postman, so have confidence in your letters."
Victor smiled. "Thanks." What else had he came there to discuss? "Um, so, I've been having an... odd feeling of sorts."
Aesop tilted his head. "What kind of 'odd feeling?'"
"I dunno, really," Victor replied, shrugging. "Like... sometimes I start to feel nauseous at times, like there's butterflies in my stomach. My heart rate also speeds up a lot. I have no idea why. Oh, and sometimes it glows; like, the same glow from when you're in matches and stuff."
Aesop took a second to think through all of what Victor said before asking, "Are you ever near a certain person whenever it happens?"
"Well... whenever it happens, only Luca or Andrew are there, but I'm usually around them in the first place. Why?" Victor asked Aesop, curious as to why he had wondered if he was with a person in particular whenever it happened.
Aesop awkwardly looked down. He knew he couldn't see Victor's reaction to the next line, but it was always an awkward subject for him to discuss with anybody in general.
"Then... this might be a stretch, and I'm not good at stuff like this, b-but..." Aesop sighed.
"I-I think you're starting to fall in love."
Victor's face heated up and he paused, taken aback a bit by the statement. "Um, w-what?" Was that really what he was feeling that whole time? Had it really been that obvious?
"Those are usually how a person feels when they get flustered," Aesop said, awkwardly fidgeting with his gloved fingers. "And the heart thing; that never really happens if you're not around a hunter. Name an instance when your heart started to glow."
"W-Well..." Victor thought back to when Luca had came up to him after a match. "Luca has seen Andrew hurry off, and he said he'd be right back. He turned to me and did that smile thing he always does, and he ran off to help Andrew, and-" he cut himself off.
"And?"
"A-And... I didn't know why at the time, but when I saw him smile like that at me, my heart just started..."
Oh.
Did he like them? Both of them? Both Andrew and Luca?
Was that selfish of him, to like two people like that? No, it wasn't, he just had feelings for two people. But how would everyone else react to it? Him, the postman, liking both Andrew and Luca in a romantic way?
Satisfied with enough information for one day, Victor stood up. "I-I'm going back to my room now. Thanks, Aesop"
"No problem," Aesop responded as he stood up and walked away from the door, returning to the task he was working on before Victor had came over.
Victor walked back to his room. His head was spinning. Maybe he knew but he just didn't really believe that that was what he was thinking?
He sat down at the desk in his room and looked at the letter he had shown Aesop. After some consideration, he decided that he would rewrite it.
At first, he had started writing it to tell the two that he greatly appreciated them for talking to him and being his friend and all that. He knew that the letter was missing something— something important that he wanted to say— but he didn't know what until then.
He'd still keep some of the things in the new letter, but all the words would reach a different conclusion by the end.
The red ink heart was definitely staying, though. There just needed to be another one added right beside it.
