[[Slight trigger warning for needles and referral to potential self harm]]

Andrew sat on one of the beds of the medical room. The match he was supposed to be in that day was already over. He had won it, but that didn't mean that he had came out completely untouched. He had a few bruises and scraps here and there, and his body still had some dirt left on it.

Luca walked in and leaned against the wall next to Andrew. He didn't need to get himself checked up, but he had been bored and had been wanting to engage in a conversation.

Emily grabbed something from her desk then walked over to Andrew. Noticing that it was nothing other than her "trusty" needle, his posture shrunk.

He never really liked her using her needle on him. Yes, the initial pain from it was short and quick, but then his arm would ache for a bit. That, and he hated taking them in the first place.

"Alright. Can you spell out your name for me?" Emily asked, stepping beside Andrew.

"My name?" She nodded. Seemed like an odd request. "Alright, I guess."

He had just gotten to "r" in his name before letting out a higher pitched squeak of surprise. He mentally cursed at himself for falling for that trick doctors used on people when giving shots. Though, it probably hurt a lot less than what it would have if he weren't distracted.

"See? It's over, just like that." Emily grabbed a cotton pad and pressed it on the area she had administered the shot, which made Andrew wince. She grabbed a bandaid from her desk and applied it to the area. "All done."

Luca knew this was obviously just Emily giving a shot to Andrew— she was a doctor and she did this with everyone— but he still felt kind of weird watching it. The albino wasn't even in that much pain but it still hurt him to watch it.

Emily hummed to herself as she walked back to her desk. "You should be fine otherwise. Just clean yourself up tonight, okay?"

Andrew nodded. "I know. I will."

Getting bored of standing, Luca plopped down on the bed next to Andrew. He looked at Andrew and grinned.

Andrew's sleeve has still been up because Emily had had to reach his arm to administer the shot. Luca paused as he grabbed the boy's hand.

"What're you doing?" Andrew asked.

"I should be asking you the same thing." Luca pointed down at Andrew's wrist. He had noticed the marks across it, and that it seemed like a lot to be considered "normal."

"Oh." When had he gotten those marks again? "It's... I don't think it's what you're thinking of." He kept his voice low so Emily couldn't overhear them. As much as he enjoyed her company sometimes, he didn't really want a therapist-like conversation at the moment.

"Really? What was it, then?" Luca also made sure to keep his voice low, but his tone was more serious than his normal one.

Oh yeah, that's where he had gotten them from. "There's these... these weird plant things outside, and they keep you in this place. I had accidentally came across them late at night a good while back, and... I don't know if it was the light that aggravated them or me or what, but they kinda..." He motioned down at his wrist. "They also has pretty sharp thorns, so that would explain it."

Usually, Luca wouldn't believe a story like this, but after being in the manor and seeing all sorts of things happen, this didn't stray too far from the new ordinary.

"So you're not... y-you're not..."

"Oh, no. No, I wouldn't." He knew he had somewhat of a depressing appearance to him, but did he really look like he would do that to himself?

Luca have a small nod. "Good." He made sure Emily wasn't looking and then leaned over to pull Andrew into a quick hug. "Because I really don't wanna lose ya to yourself out of all things, y'know?" He nervously chuckled to himself.

"Yeah, I get it." Andrew mustered up a small smile. Not many people saw him smile nowadays, so it wasn't surprising to see Luca get a bit happier seeing him do so. The brunette grinned and hug Andrew tighter.

"You two going to just hug it out forever?"

Luca immediately let go of Andrew as both of their faces went red. She had been looking, hasn't she?

Emily giggled softly. "Don't worry. I won't tell," she said with a smile.

Andrew tried to make his flustered appearance go back to his normal stoic one. "What do you mean? W-We weren't-"

"I gotta go. I promised Emma this morning that I'd visit her in the garden." She waved goodbye to the two and walked out the door, leaving them together in the middle of the room.
