Dear you (Kay20026)

Dear you

I envy how the star's twinkle reflects in your eyes

And how it disappears in between your sighs

With your head perched on my thighs

We gazed at the only scenery that swallowed your lies

And for a moment I allowed the rise and fall of your breathing

To sing lullabies to my fears

And the dark hid the trail of my tears

Because I realized

That as serene as the night might be

The sun will rise eventually

And we will be just as we were

Little broken souls holding on to each other

For dear life

Because although the comfort

That the arms you put around me

Did not guarantee me the title of your wife

At least I would be in your life

Holding on to your soul like a crutch
