The Mockingbird

singing the music of life,

wheeling in the air the innocence,

how the world in you, defies.

reciting the melody of caricatured art,

then diving into your own nest,

with thine kindered heart.

the blush of gray plumage,

that causes a rat-tat in everyones heart,

pass through hurry of wind with ramage.

when they say to shatter you is a crime,

they pray for your unimpeachable bliss,

then you sing a song of great sublime.

for you are a symbol of innocence,

the light at the end of tunnel,

of humankind radiance.
