Aquamarine's pov

My teeth grinded against each other when my eyes landed on the tub of hair gel in front of me. Who even wears hair gel to watch a movie in the dark? Dumbass.

"I need to talk to you, stat" Josie said, the girl walked right over and took her hands in mine, tugging me right towards the kitchen

It amazed me how only the touch of Beverly could spark something within me.

So there I stood, leaning against the counter with my elbows supporting my chin as I smiled sweetly.

Josie stood on the opposite end with her and crossed her arms against her chest with a pissed off expression.

"What's on your mind?" I asked

"What the fuck is that out there?" Josie asked

"What are you talking about?"

"I'm talking about, why is your girl getting all lovey dovey with Ray the stray?"

"Ray the stray?" I asked

"Yeah, because he needs to stray the fuck away from Beverly" Josie spat. I chuckled at the girl

"Beverly isn't mine to have" I assured

"Cut the crap, you know damn well she likes you" Josie said, I rolled my eyes and exhaled a deep breath

"She doesn't"

"Oh come on dude, I expected the obliviousness from her not you" the girl spat

"Bev has her own life to live, she chooses who she gets to be with or doesn't" I said

"And you're just a second option in case she doesn't like dick!?" she yelled

"Shhhh, keep your voice down, they're right in the next room" I groaned

"Aqua, you need to think of yourself as someone that matters. Because you do" Josie said

"That's sweet" I chuckled, the girl sighed and walked closer towards me

"Doesn't it hurt?" she asked
"To see them together like that?"

"It feels like having a whale resting on your chest" I said

"Why don't you tell her about how you feel?"

"What am I supposed to say? She's already going through a self battle, I can't go and make her feel guilty because she isn't choosing me" I said

"I understand that, but it's still good to talk about what you're feeling. Bev is a good girl, she'll understand you" Josie said

"This isn't a game, this is my heart"

"And you need to treasure your heart" Josie said
"Are you really falling for her?"

"I'm not falling for her. I'm sinking to the bottom of the ocean with an anchor around my leg" I said. Josie's eyes grew wide

"Really? You don't show it"

"With the toxic father I have, you get accustomed to concealing your emotions to protect yourself" I assured

"I guess I understand you better now, you're a really good person Aqua. I just wish Bev could see that other side of you" She mumbled

"You have a problem with Raymond?" I asked

"Of course I do, he's just an ass. We've met a few times and it hasn't been pretty. He's so manipulative, Bev wouldn't see that since she's known him her whole life but gosh is he annoying. Plus, who the hell wears hair gel to a mov-"
