"Aw, Sisi you have to keep your little hat on..." I adjust the straps around her adorable little red hat that she does not want to wear at all "Babe I don't think she likes it. Maybe you should let her carry it?"

"Brad that's not part of the costume. Look how good all the other kids are being."

"They're also all much older than her though. And they chose their costumes.  There's a reason we have two Ariels to keep the fighting down."

"But look how cute she is with the lobster hat on! Maybe we should tape it somehow."

"Jennifer we are not going to be the parents that tape something to our children's head just to make them look cute..."

"Jen!"

"What?"

"Oh my God if you're really doing that-"

"Relax it's just the velvrow stuff they use for wigs. I had some left over from the girls costumes."

Brad quickly takes her from me profusely apologizing for something that she actually thinks is very funny.

"Sisi I'm so sorry your mommy is crazy. We just love you so much and sometimes that makes her do very crazy things and she can't stop herself and-"

I leave to go check on the other kids, noticing that Sydney and Reagan are completely dressed but Landon is still not too happy about his flounder costume covering up his super man shirt.

"Can I pleaseeeeeee show it, aunt Jen? Pleaseeee?"

"Come here, buddy."

I pull him on my lap, turning to see his adorable little face.

"What if we use face paint and you can have a super man face but the rest of you is flounder?"

"Okay!"

He jumps up to grab all the supplies while I work on making the girls hair perfect since their wigs are a complete disaster.

"Can you make your hair purple? So it makes Ursula?"

"Yeah! And make it reeeeeaaaalllly bright!"

"Ohhh and add some green glitter!"

"Okay, okay maybe you guys can do my hair when I'm done with yours. I didn't get a wig so we're going to use purple spray."

"And glitter!"

"Of course. We need extra glitter."

"What about uncle Brad's hair?"

"Well prince Eric has brown hair so we got a brown spray..."

"I think uncle Brad's hair is perfect how it is." He walks in mid conversation holding all the paints Landon had "And why are we playing with paints?"

"Landon wants a super man face and I told him he could have it. That's your job. And keep your daughter away from the paint. She ate some last night."

"Ew, Sisi! That's bad!" Reagan runs over to hold her, playing with her costume "But you're soooo cute!"

Sydney runs over with her, practically losing her wig in the process since I was still working on it. They gush over Sienna while I help Brad with Landon's face since he has no idea what he's doing.

"Brad... you- super man is not orange."

"I know. I'm blending colors to make it perfect."

"You don't blend the colors ON his skin."

I help show him what to do so poor Landon doesn't look awful, but quickly get distracted by the girls finding the purple spray.

"Noooo. No. Let's take this outside."

I quickly jump up and grab them before they make a mess, bringing Sienna with since Brad is very preoccupied.

"Okay just spray it all over my hair."

I hand them each a can before sitting down with Sienna, expecting to look like a mess. I pull her in to feed her as soon as they start, not wanting her to be interested in the process.

"Woooooow! Looks how purple!"

"I loveeeeee it!!"

"Girls you have to get the back of my head too, okay?"

They move around behind me both laughing way too much for my comfort, but I told them they could do this so I don't want to have them miss out.

"Oh my God-" Brad eventually walks out in shock "Jen... uh have you seen your head? It's... it's a mess."

"I'm trying not to look."

"Babe you look like barney."

"Actually no. Like Barney threw up on you because what is that brown?"

"What?"

I quickly reach for the cans, realizing I gave one of the girls the brown one that was for Brad.

"Uh oh..."

"Girls maybe you should go play with Sisi while I help aunt Jen."

Brad hands them Sienna and they run off to play in front of us while he takes over.

"This is awful oh my God. I think the brown can be hidden but it definitely wont be the same color purple all over."

He finishes getting me ready, so I can eventually spray some on him before we somehow manage to strap Sienna in her stroller and get the kids to walk with us nicely.

"See, this isn't too bad," I lean into Brad trying to ignore Sienna's constant screams of annoyance "I don't think she hates it too much and they're loving all the candy."

"I still think taking them to your parents to help hand out candy would have been just as fun."

"Brad our child is clutching onto a candy bar so tightly that her knuckles are white. Do you really think she would have given out any candy?"

"Yeah okay maybe you're right."

We walk the kids up to the next house, making sure they're all nice as they get handed their candy and even share some with Sienna since she's pissed about being strapped in.

"Should we carry her?"

"Probably wouldn't hurt."

I reach in for her and the screaming stops immediately once she thinks she's reached freedom in my arms. We walk through the whole neighborhood making sure to reach every house, watching how excited the kids get at the littlest things like the decorations and other costumes they see.

"Can we come here every year?"

"We'll see, honey. I think your mom and dad would miss you though."

"But we looooove it!"

We eventually walk down the next street so we can end with my parents house where my dad gives them tons of extra candy.

"Look how cute!" Sherry runs out to see the kids "I love the costumes. And the super man face!"

"Thankssss!"

The kids jump around obviously hyped up on more candy than they can handle thanks to all our generous neighbors.

"And Jen's hair. Wow that's a freaking master piece." My dad makes sure to take plenty of pictures for humiliation later on "It's like barney went mudding."

"Oh shut up."

"The kids and Brad enjoyed my comment."

"I just hope I can wash it out."

We watch the kids run around in the yard playing while Sienna crawls with them completely destroying her costume.

"Well it looks like she had a great first Halloween."

"The best."
