Hello, my lovelies, it's been a while since I last posted. I hope everyone is okay and is staying safe. I am opening requests for a few days; I will make an announcement when they are closed. Requests are open again, as they are open a short while I am only accepting one request per person. Please message me character and plot, this just so I don't lose them. As always thanks for votes, following me and reading my works. I also love getting your comments as I really love reading them, they inspire me to write more.

You were stringing the paperclips together in the war room, the door opened, and you raised your eyes from your slumped position in the leather chair. Mac entered with Riley, Bozer, Jack, and Matty. "You're here early." Matty seemed surprised, you shrugged. "I was filing my paperwork and was on my way back to my office when I got the text." Mac smiled at your answer and snagged his own paperclip from the bowl, you began to unstring the paperclips and throw them carefully in the bowl. Bozer sat on the couch with Riley perching on the arm, Jack stood behind Mac's chair as Matty made her way to the front. Matty began to explain the mission which involved having to travel by car rather than flying the four hours to the destination. "Why?" Jack interjected as Matty was about to explain the mission. "Because, Jack, we don't want them to know that we are coming." Jack mumbled something under his breath. Matty went on to explain, that you all were needed to gather some highly sensitive material on a device from the two people who have stolen it. "The two people who have stolen it?" You asked mockingly before continuing, "are you not going to tell us who stole it? We just have to sneak into to their house and steal something they stole." Matty fixed you with a stern glare, the one that had lesser agents take a step back. You didn't flinch having seen how much she had cared for Bozer when Murdoc had left him bleeding out in the lab. "Sorry Matty, but it sounds like a poorly written story or film where the author/script writers didn't think it was relevant information to their audience. So, actually what we do need to know is who stole it is information." Matty narrowed her eyes slightly at you, you kept looking back at her, missing the smiling faces of Jack, Riley and Bozer, as well as Mac's lips twitching up in a hidden smile. "A former CIA agent, by the name, Wendy Moira Hood is the one believed to have stolen the device. She will be at a masquerade ball, with her former partner also former CIA, Peter John Michaels who is believed to be in on the sale of this information." You nodded, "thank you, now that wasn't too hard, right?" You could have sworn Matty's lips twitched upwards, but she narrowed her eyes instead. Matty gave the rest of the information impassively, giving the information need, she did pause at a few places, obviously waiting for your usual pithy comments, but you didn't comment much throughout the rest of the briefing.

You arrived at the SUV that Jack had claimed he was driving for the road trip to where the party was being held. You and Riley arranged the gear in the boot, while Mac, Bozer and Jack where discussing music for the trip. "Five bucks that we have to listen to the Proclaimers 500 Miles for at least an hour on repeat." Riley bet, you grinned, "nah, five on it being at least two hours." You both shook on it, before you arranged the five outfits for the masquerade ball so that they wouldn't crease. Riley climbed into the back sitting in the window seat, you and Bozer had a mini scuffle for the other window seat, you lost. Sliding into the back in the middle seat, you slipped your feet into Riley's foot space as you didn't have that much room. Riley smiled at your actions, moving into a comfortable position. Mac slipped into the front passenger seat, as Jack climbed into the driver's seat. Mac glued his eyes to his phone, as Jack pulled out of the carpark. Jack turned on the radio and fiddled with the aux cord, turning the music up high as he began the four-hour drive to the location, which you read up on while the Proclaimers blared in the background.

After arriving you had checked into the relatively cheap hotel that Matty had set you up in. Riley dropped onto the bed in the room the pair of you shared. "If I never hear the Proclaimers ever again it'll be too soon." You smiled, "Jack will probably play it on the way back." Riley groaned, you chuckled. Stepping away from the bed that you had dropped your gear on, you began to lay out the suits and the dresses needed for tonight. While you were checking for creases, Mac stuck his head in the open door, "Matty wants us to go over the game plan when you're ready." Riley jumped off the bed and followed him out, she looked back at you when she reached the door. "I'll just check the masks then be right out." You told her, she nodded leaving with Mac. Once the masks were laid out, you headed out to the lounge where the others were waiting. You caught Mac's eye and gave him a small smile. He returned it before Matty's face filled the screen of the laptop you were grouped around. Everyone around you began discussing the masquerade ball and armed guards that would be there, as well buildings layout. Matty also brought up Wendy and Peter's training and what they had specialised in during their time at the CIA. "You will need to be vigilant when going undercover for this case." You leaned into Riley and whispered in her ear "constant vigilance." She snorted, disguising it as a cough. "Both Wendy and Peter were the best at blending in with their surroundings during their time at the CIA. Jack scoffed, "what could go wrong at a masquerade ball?" Mac put his head in his hands, Bozer raised eyebrows and Riley simply asked. "Really Jack?" You turned to him, "clearly you've never read 'The Masque of the Red Death' by Edgar Allan Poe." Mac placed his fingers over his mouth as he turned his head to hide his smile at the quip. Jack scoffed. Matty raised her eyebrows. "Don't jinx the mission, Jack." She said warningly.
