It had been weeks since the kiss between you and Mac, each time you wanted to talk to him about it something would either pull one of you away or the words wouldn't come. Little did you know, Mac was trying to do the same thing, he was constantly pulled away from having the discussion about the kiss with you by a number of things. He was also having trouble finding out what he wanted to say. Three different speeches were ready, one was about maintaining your friendship and not letting the kiss interfere with everyone. The second was that due to your jobs maybe a relationship right now was the best idea. The third idea was to simply kiss you again, which granted wasn't a speech.

Mac leaned against the wall as he watched you in the war room having a discussion with Matty. As you left Mac got rush of emotions as you paused outside the room biting your lip. He remembered how you had nibbled your lips as you had both left the gala, as well as on the road trip home. As he watched the memory of your lips pressing against his felt so real that he could have sworn he was kissing you again.

Mac moved forwards, he reached out almost involuntarily to grasp at your elbow, but he held back and instead used a soft call of your name. You looked up at him, "Mac, hey." You looked nervous; Mac tilted his head to a quieter section of the hallway. "Can I talk to you?" Nodding you locked the tablet, so you didn't accidently mess with anything. Mac leaned against the wall, his shoulder pressing against the cold concrete, he was facing you. "What's up Mac?"

He looked at you, "we need to talk about the kiss." You nodded, "as soon as we talk it'll all change you know, that right?" Mac nodded sighing and a speech came to him, maybe not the one he wanted but the one that he thought he was ready for. "I really care about you; you are one of my best friends. You mean a lot to me and I don't want to lose you. I care about you and loosing you...loosing you is the worst thing I can think of. This job I found that I lose the things I care about or they get hurt and I don't want anything to happen to you. I'm not sure if we can be anything right now with everything, maybe someday we can be something if the feelings are still there. Maybe someday...maybe...you don't have to wait for me to be ready. I'm really sorry." Your eyes widened at Mac's speech. He looked pained, as if he didn't want this to be the speech he gave. "Mac." You shook your head slightly, "I understand all of that, I do. I don't want to lose you either, you mean so much to me. I would like a say in this decision, but I'm not going to force you into a relationship or anything you don't want. But I can't live on maybes, if you don't want a relationship with me please say that. Don't dangle a future relationship in front of me. Say never. Say you never want a relationship with me, say that you never liked me like that. Say that you never loved me. Say that you'll move on with someone else." Mac sighed and moved off the wall stepping forward.

Your name fell from Mac's lips in a whisper before he moved forwards, closing the distance between you. Mac cupped your face in his hands, his thumbs brushing the edges of your cheeks while his fingers rested on the back of your head brushing the short hairs. Your hands came up to rest on his forearms, grasping them slightly to hold yourself in place. He pulled you up to meet his lips, you inhaled sharply as your lips met. You gave a hitching gasp, as Mac's lips left yours. His lips left yours, hovering a breath away and after he pulled back, he moved back forwards a hint as if he was going to kiss you again. Mac inhaled your scent, the warm smell of the jasmine you used. His hands holding your head with all the care in the world. He pulled away so that there was some space between you both and so he could look you in the eyes.

Breathing in a heavy breath, "I told you as soon as we talked it'll all change." You stepped away from Mac's grasp, his hands stayed in place as you walked away, heels clicking. His hands stayed in place shaking slightly for a few seconds longer before dropping to his sides.

The day had dragged by after Mac had kissed you. You had been twitchy; you hadn't really finished any one of your jobs today due to being so distracted. According to Jack, Mac had been acting weird all day. Jack had come to talk to you about it, but he had noticed that you were acting jumpy. He hadn't gotten anything out of you about why you and Mac were acting funny. After you shrugged off his questions and Jack had left.

That night, you went home picking up takeout on the way. You tossed your keys into the bowl by the door. Placing the takeout on your coffee table, you flicked on the TV and found a movie to watch. There was a knock at the door, muting some actor in the midst of some impassioned speech to win the girl back. Arriving at the door, you opened it without checking the peephole. "Mac." You looked at Mac, he looked at you again with a pained look. You leaned against the door frame, not inviting him in. "What are you doing here?" Mac sighed, "you said that you wanted a say and I realised that you never got that." You shrugged still not inviting him in. "You didn't really give me a choice, Mac. You decided, and I understand that decision I do. But you should just assume that it'll be the same for me. Maybe we get together, and it doesn't work out, but shouldn't we at least try? If that is what we want. I can go back to being friends and only friends with you if that's what you want."

Mac's eyes drifted down to your lips, he shifted slightly. You did the same thing, eyes dropping to his lips. He moved forwards and kissed you, lightly. It was a quick kiss, he pulled away. "I'm sorry, about the way I handled all this after the kiss and everything." Mac stepped forwards, hands resting on your shoulders. "I should have handled it better; I should have let you have a say. I just don't want to lose you, in anyway." His hands fell from your shoulders, you stepped forwards. You leant forward and up, kissing Mac. Mac kissed you back, sliding an arm around your waist pulling you forward, cupping your head in his other head. You pulled away, "I'm sorry, are you sure you...? Because you said that you didn't want any of this." Mac leaned forwards and kissed you again, this one was a small kiss. "I'm sure. We can take it slow." You wanted to be sure, "are you sure this is what you want?" Mac kissed you again, deeply. Breaking the kiss, you pulled him into your place to share your meal and talk this huge mess out.
