Adjusting your 'superhero' outfit, you made sure that the mask you wore concealed your identity from the world. You were S/N, a member of the Justice Society of America. Your girlfriend, the infamous, Black Widow otherwise known as Natasha Romanoff was a member of the Avengers. She watched as you adjusted it to fit more comfortably. Flexing your wrist, you made sure the claws on your outfit were working. You didn't have powers, you mainly used your intelligence, skills that had been honed over the years, as well as your strength. You turned around, smiling at your girlfriend. Natasha was leaning against the doorway of your shared bedroom; she was dressed in her own outfit. She had her own mission that was about to go underway. You finished adjusting your mask, before turning around and giving a wicked grin to your girlfriend before you both headed out.

Natasha walked to the nondescript phone box that you used to jump around the compounds, it connected each member of the JSA to your lair as it was affectionally called from their various locations around America as well as the Avengers for dangerous times. The JSA had helped the Avengers with situations when they needed it, you had helped fight Loki, in fact that was how you had met Natasha. The JSA had also helped with Ultron; which was how you and Nat had finally confronted your feelings for each other. Another situation in which you had joined forces was Thanos, this was the one misadventure that wasn't really talked about with anyone, however you had loved meeting the heroic and daring Loki you had heard about in Thor's stories before he disappeared. You opened the phone box which was reminisced of the TARDIS which you had suspected had been painted by Tony Stark, later you had found out that it had been Pepper who was just as mischievous as her husband.

The phone box was the way that the JSA stayed connected throughout their various locations in America. There was one hidden in all the main cities, that each member operated in as well as a few hidden in various government buildings. Tony had been thrilled to have one hidden in the Avengers headquarters. You suspected that it was mostly due to him being able to travel to any city in the blink of an eye as well as being able to talk to the various members about the gadgets they used. You stepped into the phone box, tapped in the code and soon a warm light enveloped you. In short moment you were transported to the JSA's lair.

You sighed after getting back from a relatively easy mission with Green Lantern, Flash as well as Red Tornado. Green Lantern and you were both laughing as Flash tried to defend his lack of mask, and the way he described it. Red Tornado was trying to figure out why you were shaking with repressed laughter and you tried to explain before dissolving into laughter. "He bass..ically...pfft...basically...hehe...shakes his head...really....pfft...really...fast." You were clutching your stomach as you started laughing bending over and ending up crumpled on the floor shaking with silent laughter.

As you were regaining your composure, while still shaking with muffled giggles as Green Lantern would mime shaking his face as fast as he could. The rest of the JSA which at the moment was made up of you, Green Lantern otherwise known as Alan Scott, Wild Cat; Ted Grant, Johnny Thunder, Jay Garrick was the Flash, Hourman, and Red Tornado. You were also joined by Sandman, Dr Mid-Nite and Hawkgirl. The various sidekicks that were mentored by the various members were absent, they had their reasons; you suspected that it was their day of eating a mountain of sweets and watching movies with no superhero mentor to watch over them. Johnny usually joined them as they loved his childlike humour and finding out what his powers were as well as danger they could inflict.

A little later, there was small shudder throughout the lair. It was just the portal opening, you and Flash shook it off, assuming it was just Hawkgirl leaving. You were slightly off on your estimation. When it had finished the JSA brushed it off until there was a roar that shook the compound. You swore when you recognised the sound, all of you activated your suits and readied yourselves for a fight. There was a crash as Abomination broke through a wall and into the main room, he was soon followed by Executioner, Enchantress, Leader, Living Laser, Riot and Zemo. There was a crackle of energy as Enchantress sent her magic throughout the room, it knocked you all back a bit. Yellow Jacket also showed up when Hawkgirl was knocked aside by Jay Garrick. You all jumped into action, when you were wacked in the stomach with Hawkgirl's weapon. You fell to your knees pain winging its way through you. Jumping up, you threw yourself forwards throwing Hawkgirl away from you, reaching for the communication array. You tapped in the emergency number for the Avengers but before you could hit call, you were knocked into a wall by Zemo before he in turn was attached by Sandman. You hit call and yelled as soon as it connected what was happening.

There were flashes of colour as magic was used on each side. You watched as Johnny Thunder used his Thunderbolt pen in as many was as he could think in order to save his family. As soon as it started it was beginning to end, the fires were spreading as they went unchecked. It took what felt like forever but must have been only a few moments, the portal opened, and the Avengers flooded in. They took in the various fights, the fires and the destroyed base. They watched about to spring into action when they spotted Dr Mid-Nite was in the middle of a fight with Riot when he spotted them, telling them to run. His distraction and subsequent attempt to save them ended the fight, Riot winning with Dr Mid-Nite falling dead. Sandman was still fighting Zemo when Yellow Jacket interrupted the fight.

The Avengers in their attempt to help ended up watching as Johnny Thunder almost give his life to save you from an attack that came from behind you. Natasha finished off Enchantress who was about to attack you again. They witnessed Hourman dying as he fought Leader and Living Laser at the same time. The villains that had attacked your base now began to retreat as the Avengers fought back. Natasha helped you to your feet as Hulk fought of Abomination. Alan Scott was flickering green as his ring began to die out, he stared around at the wreckage of the JSA base and his team turned family. He crumbled in a horrified Captain America's arms as he spoke to both him and Black Widow, "The Justice Society, they're gone. They're all gone." You looked over, Johnny Thunder was being helped by Thor and a changed Bruce Banner, they were trying to save him. As you watched you saw Johnny give Thor his Thunderbolt pen. Thor and Johnny had always gotten on well, what with being able to control lightening to not always understanding the social norms.

As you all looked around the base you could see the shocking confirmation that the JSA was gone when you spotted Sandman's corpse, Captain America stepped forwards and there was a metal clang as he knocked into something. Looking down you all spotted the battle-damaged helmet that once belonged to Jay Garrick.

Once you had healed and the Avengers had helped you lock up the villains that had killed your team. Tony had assisted in the repairs and the upgrade to the JSA headquarters. You gathered the sidekicks, now former sidekicks in the Avengers headquarters and explained what happened in further detail. They were now the Justice Society of America, and you their leader. You had also moved into the Avengers' headquarters permanently after all it made sense now that you and Natasha were parents to a baby boy. Neither of you really knew how to explain it, you did know that magic had been involved but both of you left it at that.

That evening as your son slept safe in the Avengers' headquarters with his mother, you watched as the sun set over the JSA hideout ready to lead the new Justice Society of America and fight for your old team.
