Chapter 8: may the odds ever be in your favor

[A/N: Warning! Slight OOC and cocky Tomioka]

Despite the little stunt Tomioka pulled on her earlier, Shinobu was thankful he offered her to have a meal with him. The food was very nice. She never thought that Tomioka would be a great cook.

She insisted on washing the dishes but Tomioka won't back down. They settled with both of them washing the dishes. She was mindlessly wiping the plates when she thought of where she would spend the remaining hours of the night before it is safe to be back at her place.

"...maybe I'll stay in the park again..."

"Kocho?"

"Ah, sorry, Tomioka-san!" she placed the plate back in the rack and started to wipe another plate, "I was thinking of where to spend the remaining hour of the night until it is safe to be back at my place."

"You can stay here."

"What?"

"You can spend the night here. It's not safe to be outside at this hour."

"I must decline, Tomioka-san," Shinobu said humbly. She was glad Tomioka offered her shelter for the meantime but after the stunt, he pulled earlier, she can't help but feel her heart beat faster around him. "You've done enough feeding me. I cannot burden you with my dilemma anymore."

"Kocho," Tomioka called while wiping his hands, "your sisters are going to kill me if they found out I let you out at this hour."

He was right and Shinobu knows it. Aoi would give her a handful of scolding if she knew she insisted to stay out at this hour. With a sigh, she agreed with Tomioka.

"Alright," she gave Tomioka a glare, "but I need protection from you and if you try to pull a stunt again like earlier, I will really kick your ass, got it?"

"Here's some change of clothes," Tomioka handed Shinobu a white, v-neck long sleeves shirt and boxer shorts, "the bathroom is left down the hall."

At the sight of the boxers, Shinobu instantly decided she is not going to wear those. Once inside the bathroom, she inspected the shirt and the boxers. The shirt was cotton and has a strong male scent which was pleasing for her nostrils. It was big on her. The hem ended on her midthigh, and she needed to roll the sleeves for her hands to show. The boxers short, however, made Shinobu blush. The sac area was big enough for Shinobu to imagine what size of the monster Tomioka is keeping down there.

keep yourself together Kocho Shinobu! She patted her cheeks to calm herself down.

Shinobu took a final look at herself before exiting the bathroom, and she gotta admit, she looks sexy in his clothes.

While waiting for Shinobu to finish changing, Tomioka brews some tea for the both of them. They stayed at his porch, sitting while silently sipping tea. Shinobu is casually scrolling in her phone while Tomioka is just watching the night sky. No one is uttering a word. It was serene for the both of them.

That was interrupted when Tomioka's phone rang.

Tomioka answered the call. He was surprised to see it was Nezuko on the screen that greeted him

"Nezuko, good evening," his eye softened at the sight of the child, "why did you call?"

Shinobu stopped scrolling and shifted her attention to Tomioka upon hearing the softening of his voice.

"Giyuu-saaaaan," Nezuko whined, "we missed youuu~"
