Chapter 15: pleasing a storm

After the day of her restless night, Shinobu started to avoid Tomioka. She still can't accept that she's growing affection for him. She can't even believe she let herself fall in love with him. Just by thinking of it makes her mood shift easily.

"I'm not in love with him!" Shinobu said to no one in her office. She rubbed her temple and repeatedly said, "I am not in love with a dumbass."

She sighed.

"Oh, God, help me."

On the sixth day of Shinobu's avoidance, Tomioka had enough. He decided to confront Shinobu about her avoidance of him and ask her if she knows something about the dreams he had been having.

Upon entering the hallway going through Shinobu's office, he saw Douma and Shinobu talking-or more like Douma pestering Shinobu. They were too busy talking that they did not notice him on the other end.

"Come on, Shinobu-chan~" Douma hold Shinobu's arms.

The sight irked him. He wanted to shove the blonde in a wall and make sure he's not going to ever lay a finger on her.

"I said no, Douma-san. Don't you know what that means?" Shinobu popped a vein.

"It's just a ride home, Shinobu-chan!!! Just this once, pleaseee."

People were starting to stare at them. Douma was causing a scene and it's annoying Shinobu more.

"Fine. Just stop shouting. You're disturbing my patients."

'What a pain in the ass,' Shinobu though.

"Meet me at the parking lot in 20 minutes," she instructed him.

Douma beamed. He was skipping while retreating to the other exit.

Tomioka was displeased when Shinobu agreed to him. He was glaring at Douma the whole time without him realizing.

Shinobu was in the parking lot after twenty minutes but Douma was not yet to be found.

A car was driving in her way though and she was expecting it to be the blonde's but instead of Douma's car, a very familiar black Honda Civic pulled up in front of her. She knows who's the owner of this car and she's hoping he's just passing by and didn't see her.

But it looks like luck isn't on her side today.

The man Shinobu had been avoiding for five days emerged out of the car and without missing a beat, Tomioka went on the side of the passenger seat and opened its door.

"Get in," Tomioka urged Shinobu while holding the door for her.

Shinobu is startled at his boldness. She hasn't seen this side of Tomioka since she met him. There was also something about him. A tingle was sent in her spine when their eyes met. There was a rage in Tomioka's eyes and she's confused why, but, Shinobu stood her ground.

"No."

"Get in, Kocho."

"No."

"Get in!"

"No!"

"Kocho," Tomioka said in a low but stern voice, "I will not repeat myself," Shinobu unknowingly gulped. His voice held authority which made Shinobu shiver in a very pleasant way but she's not liking the way her body acted on him.

Sighing in defeat, Shinobu obliged. She went in with a scowl in her face, making sure Tomioka can see how she is not pleased with him.

The car ride was silent. Shinobu's mind was racing the whole car ride. She's thinking of reasons as to why Tomioka is acting up right now but to no vail, she cannot find an answer. Her thoughts were interrupted when she noticed Tomioka stopped driving.
