Chapter 13: i know you

Today, Tomioka has a meet up with his close friends, Makomo and Sabito at the Kamado Café. His friends insisted on visiting him almost every week but this is the only time he agreed because Tanjirou and Nezuko convinced him. He has a feeling his close friends reached out to the sibling to make him agree.

He was scrolling on his phone while waiting for them. Unknowingly, a smile stretched on his face when he stumbled on Shinobu's picture he had taken when they went on a date.

"What's with the simile, Giyuu?"

Tomioka was startled when Sabito appeared in front of him followed by Makomo. Immediately, he locked his phone. His two friends took the space in front of him.

"What are you smiling for, Giyuu? Is it because of the doctor that Tanjirou and Nezuko told us?" Makomo chuckled, teasing Tomioka.

"It's not like that, Makomo."

"Oh, come on, Gi-chan. Lighten up! It's time for you to find someone. Besides, what you're telling is us is exactly the opposite of what the kids told us."

"What did they tell you now?"

"Everything." Sabito smirked, "Especially the part where you tried to go on dates and how you're always with a certain someone." He said, emphasizing the words 'certain someone'.

"Do you like her?" Inquired Makomo.

Tomioka shrugged, taking a sip of his coffee. He hasn't thought of that, at least. But he likes being around Shinobu. Other than the Kamado siblings, she put colors in his boring life.

"How are you two not dating if you're always with her?"

Absentmindedly, he answered Makomo's question with something he regretted. "We did date."

Sabito was staring at him with wide eyes while Makomo was chuckling beside him.

"So, you guys did date. When? The kids didn't tell us that part."

"Because they don't know."

Makomo quirked an eyebrow at him, urging him to continue.

"I didn't tell them that she was my last date. I don't know how they will react."

"Well based on what Nezuko told us, they'll be so happy if they found out you did date her and you guys become an item," Sabito said in a matter of fact tone.

"Also, the kids like her. They told us how she's very nice. I'm gonna ask you again, Gi-chan," Makomo's eyes were glimmering with mischief, "Do you like her?"

It took Tomioka a few seconds before he replied, "Maybe, I think. I don't know." Tomioka sighed. He knows he looks miserable by the way he answered them, "I like the feeling when I'm around her."

Sabito looks like he's going to slap Tomioka with some sense into him but it was Makomo who did the speaking.

"Gi-chan, you like her. Accept that." Makomo reached for Tomioka's cheeks and pinched him, "besides, if the kids approved of her, and you guys are always together, what's stopping you from courting her?"

Tomioka didn't think of that. He did like Shinobu. She's making him feel emotions he has not thought he will feel especially towards his opposite gender. He wants to be with the small doctor all the time, and to make the matter worst, he can't get her out of his head.

"Maybe I do like her..." Tomioka murmured but his friends heard him.

"Giyuu, bro, you need help." Sabito sighed.

His friend is right though. He really needs help.

He spent half of his day with his two friends. It was fun but it still drained him. Back in his apartment, he took a nice shower and decided to take a nap before he went to fetch Shinobu.
