Coeur is an anomaly to most people, and even he will agree that statement is incredibly accurate. Most people know him to be rather cold towards others whenever he does speak, even when he isn't being curt it's clear he isn't here for the formalities and just wants to get things done. Coeur keeps people at arms length even if those people have good intentions and chooses to maintain what he feels is a comfortable emotional distance as long as possible, however with persistence these walls can be slowly broken down. His emotional distance from people has actually managed to creep out of just his words alone into the physical world, as he often grows uncomfortable when people are in his space in any way from messing with his personal effects to being in his personal bubble, however this eases much more easily than his emotional walls and it just takes sticking around long enough for him to start getting used to someone. As expected due to his limited interactions with people Coeur doesn't always know how to respond to statements or social situations, and this couldn't be more true for any sort of praise or compliment, as no matter how innocent or small it may be he will find himself shyly embarrassed and maybe even flustered depending on what was said. He isn't exactly familiar with the concept of 'relaxing' due to his serious attitude and how his perfectionism turns him into a workaholic more often than he'll admit, he hasn't had much fun in his life so perhaps that might explain why he doesn't bother to take a day off in many senses. His ability to plan ahead and be open to new ideas does end up coming with a price, as his more introverted tendencies when paired with these and perfectionism have caused him to become rather pessimistic in most avenues of life, often finding himself expecting the worse in almost any situation or person he comes across.
Despite all his faults there is still a good person somewhere behind the self-imposed emotional isolation. He does have more consideration for others than he usually lets on, and there is no better example of this than how he treats the patients in his care, since he acts towards these people with a soft compassion that has surprised more people he's met than not. Coeur is also much smarter than most people know, seeing as most people assume he has booksmarts and stop paying attention, on the contrary he is actually quite inventive when it comes to problem solving, able to plan for almost every potential outcome, and does show a small skill of well worded remarks and comebacks in his interactions with colleagues. His tendency to be serious isn't entirely a bad trait, as it is why he can keep a level head even when surrounded by distractions as well as have a neutral point of view when emotions aren't getting involved that helps him look objectively. While the doctor may end up getting restless after being in one place for a while, he's also incredibly adaptable to his environment because of this constant movement, having learned how to slide into new places and deal with new kinds of people on the go. After enough persistence Coeur may begin to show his softer side a bit more, slowly losing his standoffish demeanor as he becomes more comfortable with a person and possibly even becoming a bit nicer/friendlier towards them.
