He was standing there, waiting for someone. I don't know who, but i was pretty sure he was. He was searching and turning back and forth, then he stopped and called someone - the person.
"Where are you?" He yelled. "I've been waiting for hours! Wait a minute, who is this? WHAT?"
"Wow, what's up with him?" Popped up Ricky behind me.
"I was hoping you'd tell me," I said. We both looked at Connor worried. 'Who would make him this upset?' I thought to myself. I hurried my way towards him and rubbed his back while he slammed his phone against his head. "Con - Con, Connor - what - what's wrong? Calm down," I told him. He started tearing up, and his face turned red. "No, no, Connor, don't cry," I said as I put my hands on both his cheeks and slowly moved them across his face and whipped his tears.
"My - my dad - he -" he cried hesitated.
"Shhhh," I tried to calm him as I touched his lips and hugged him tightly. Ricky hurried to us and asked me what was wrong whispering, I told him I'd explain later, so he nodded and left. "Come, let- let me take you home."
I got in my car and he followed. His house wasn't far away, and it took us a couple of minutes to arrive, and when we did, he didn't get out of the car. I tried to ask him what had happened, but he was crying so hard he could barely breathe.
I unbuckled my seat belt and sat on his lap, in the passenger's seat. I hugged him and placed my hand on his head to push back his weave, and he finally opened his eyes.
"Connor?" I whispered. He looked up at me and nodded softly. I leaned in so that my forehead would meet his, and looked at his beautiful eyes that were shining red.
"My dad, he - he passed away," he told me. I gasped and hugged him really tightly before he started crying again. "He died in a car crash this morning, and nobody told me. I was supposed to meet him at a boutique so we could buy my mom a present for her birthday; that's why I was waiting! Then I called him and my sister picked up," he whined. "And I - I thought he flew here yesterday, but he - he didn't!"
"I-I didn't know; I'm so sorry," I told him. I kissed his cheek and stared at his eye lids as he continued to cry. "Um... Let's- let's get out of here," I opened the door for us to go to the house. I got out of the car first and he gave me the house keys so I opened the front door of his apartment. He got out of the car and held my hand, then he took us up to his room.
He sat on his bed and invited me to sit next to him. An awkward silence invaded the room.
"Thanks, Beth. You... You mean the world to me," he whispered. I smiled and nodded 'no problem' and leaned closer to him. He leaned in to, and kissed me.
