Macy was typing the final report on New Jersey Aviation Industry when there as a call on her cell phone. Disappointment crashed her when she realized it wasn't from William, it was an unknown number.

''Macy Henderson speaking, may I know who is this'', she picked up her usual formal tone.

''Macy, not sure you remember me, it's Jake'', Jake mumbled politely to Macy. She was taken back slightly, fear, guilt, confusion taking over her thoughts.

''Mr. Clark, I remember. What can I do for you, William is not here at the moment'', Macy replied.

''No, it was you I wanted to talk to. Macy not many people come to meet me. I was glad that you accompanied Prim. You care about her and William'', Jake sighed.

''Yes I do Mr. Clark'', Macy replied confused.

''Macy would you mind me asking you to come and visit me sometimes'', Jake asked saddened.

''Mr. Clark please don't get me wrong but I am not sure William will like it and besides I wouldn't want to interfere either'', Macy sighed, not knowing where this conversation was leading to but her spidey sense screamed it wasn't something good.

''As you wish Macy, anyways thank you for your time. Have a good day'', Jake hung up on Macy.

His call added fuel to Macy's curiosity. She wanted to know so much about Jake and she wouldn't want to ask William. Macy finally made up her mind to meet Jake.

''I want to meet Jake Clark'', the guard led her to the cell.

''What a pleasant surprise Macy, I wasn't expecting you that soon'', Jake beamed at her.

''Mr. Clark'', Macy was out of words.

''Jake to you please. So how is my little sister Prim'', he folded his legs to sit and motioned Macy to sit beside him.

''She is fine, but I'm sure that's not the reason you wanted to meet me'', Macy asked.

''I know you have a lot of questions Macy and I completely understand. I want you to remember that truth is not what others portray'', Jake mumbled.

''What can I say, I know very little about you Jake'', Macy replied.

''I know William considers me a prick who murdered his pregnant girlfriend or that's what he might have told you, and I understand that you must have believed it too which is not so difficult when everyone thinks the same'', Jake sighed and Macy urged Jake to continue with sympathy.

''Try to believe me Macy'', Jake paused and looked into Macy's eyes.

''Well tell me then''.

''My girlfriend, Lily was married before she fell into a relationship with me. I dint know about it. I loved her more than anything else in this world and she too had the same feelings for me or what I believe. She was pregnant with my child and her fucking husband got to know about it. He called us both to Lily's house to resolve the situation but who had known that he had some other plans. He called us to kill Lily. That bastard murdered my Lily, Macy. I tried to stop him, I held him back, I pushed him off Lily but it was too late, my Lily and my child were dead Macy. He got away but I couldn't. I sat there beside her caressing her head, our child. In that moment it dint strike me what would happen if I was found, I could be accused of the murder. All I could think of was Lily and if I left her this way she would never forgive me. How could I be so cold. But then what I feared of did happen eventually. Three police men reached at the spot and accused me of her murder and here I am, with only my mom fighting for me, fighting for truth'', Jake sobbed.

Macy couldn't help her tears anymore which fell unbidden out of sympathy for Jake. He was not as bad as William had portrayed. He might be right.

''So why is everyone'', Macy resumed.

''Not their fault Macy, people tend to believe what they see and hear'', Jake sighed.

''I am sorry''.

''You shouldn't be, not after you tried to understand me. I am glad you came today. I couldn't have asked for more. William is a lucky man'', Jake looked up to Macy.

''So hasn't the police yet found the husband'', Macy resumed not wanting to sound too nosy.

''No they haven't, but I am sure they will soon and these dark days will come to an end. Perhaps I will have to celebrate my birthday alone this year, away from my people'', Jake murmured sadly.

''I should leave now, I have work to attend, take care Jake'', Macy sighed and wished Jake goodbye.

As she returned to her office she had a little sympathy for Jake. Maybe William was mistaken. Maybe Jake was not that bad after all. She was a little upset with how judgmental William could be. How could he just abandon his brother like that. At night Macy dozed off thinking of Jake.

''Morning Macy'', William gave a quick peck to Macy on her lips.

''Morning William, I had a question'', Macy asked.

''Anything, you know that Macy'', William beamed at her.

''What if Jake is not guilty at all, like there might be a possibility right'', Macy sighed.

''Why are you still hung up on him, I don't understand'', William looked at her in confusion.

''No I am not, I am just weighing possibilities'', Macy mumbled.

''Macy, Jake is guilty for god sake. What do I have to do to make you believe that. All the proof's are against him. If he were true I would have supported him myself but he is not. And if he were true wouldn't he be given a clean chit by now, but he is just cooking up stories Macy, forget about him come here'', William pulled Macy into a tight hug and she melted.

It was Friday, when Macy decided to meet Jake as it was his birthday. She knew for a fact that William would not be too happy about it. But yet the other half of her deeply sympathized with Jake, maybe there was something about the way he spoke to her, or maybe the way he looked at her, made her feel that there was a possibility that he was innocent.

''Happy birthday Jake'', Macy handed him a bouquet and a cake.

''That's so thoughtful of you Macy, thank you, does William know'', Jake sighed.

''No'', Macy whispered feeling a little guilty of not telling William about her visits to Jake.

''I thought so, anyways thank you, this means a lot to me Macy'', Jake beamed at Macy.

''Please, it's this least I could have done'', Macy sighed. She was digging her own grave.
