CHAPTER XXVII

William had settled upon dialing Macy, he wanted to set their differences aside with regards to Jake and now since Prim was going back to Paris he had one left child to worry about. She picked up his call on the first ring.

''Hello William, is everything fine'', Macy smiled.

''Yes, Prim is leaving tomorrow so I just thought if you could come with us to drop her at the airport and we don't get much time together these days so'', William waited for Macy to reply.

''Yes of course I would love that'', Macy agreed.

''Ok then see you tomorrow'', William hung up.

''I am going to miss you guys, Macy the most probably'', Prim pulled her into a tight hug as William followed them with her luggage.

''And you hot hunk take care of her'', Prim kissed William on his cheeks as they bid farewell to Prim.

''So what plans now'', William inquired.

''Nothing much, planning for a little shopping and you'', Macy inquired.

''Office Macy, I have been giving you a lot of work load these days, time to get back to work and you certainly need a day off'', William beamed proudly at Macy.

She left for some boutiques to stock on her wardrobe. She was at Marcus Piquoteen when she noticed William's mom beaming at her.

''You must be Macy, I am Emily Clark'', she introduced herself as she greeted Macy.

Emily was in her mid fifties, grey hair and extravagant make up and tight fitted clothes described her as an elite member of the society.

''Yes, nice to meet you Mrs. Clark'', Macy replied.

''Jake has told me so much about you, he is so fond of you dear. So how do you know my child, haven't seen you earlier'', Emily inquired.

''I am P.A. to Mr. William Clark, Mrs. Emily'', Macy replied a little too embarrassed.

''I did not know William had P.A's well whatever you have to do with him, I am glad my Jake had someone to open up his heart too. Dear it gets so lonely sometimes you know'', Emily recollected.

''I understand Mrs. Clark'', Macy smiled politely.

''Yes of course dear, why don't you come for dinner tonight'', Emily smiled.

''I will certainly try Mrs. Clark'', Macy assured Emily.

Emily left the boutique after some idle talk with Macy leaving her to ponder upon her invitation.

She had made it a point to call Macy back during the afternoon to confirm her dinner plan and since Emily was so all over her Macy couldn't refuse.

It was 8 when Macy got dressed up for the dinner. She wore a strappy blue floral dress that just reached up to her knees. She put on minimal makeup and completed the look with blue pumps.

''Hello dear so good to see you'', Emily pulled Macy into a hug.

''And looking beautiful too'', she beamed.

''I am Jonathan, pleased to meet you'', Jonathan greeted Macy.

''Pleased to meet you too Mr. Clark'', Macy replied.

Emily led her to the couch and as she resumed to offer Macy some wine there was someone at the door.

''Hello mother'', William stiffly pulled Emily into a hug and scrambled out of his suit coat.

''What a pleasant surprise Willy, Prim left isn't it'', Emily muttered disapprovingly.

''Yes she did mom'', William sighed not wanting to explain anything further. He paced towards the hall and was shocked to find Macy on the couch.
