"Jimin." Y/N said as they walked inside the building to meet the wedding planner, who greeted her enthusiastically. He hummed in acknowledgement as he shook the woman's hand. "I need you to get with Namjoon's assistants while you're here." He cocked an eyebrow. "If this marriage is such a big deal, we should probably look like.....something." She wasn't sure what word to say. Look like they cared about each other? That she wasn't frustrated with his unnecessarily passive and hostile behavior? "Like, you know, dates."

"I'll speak with them." He was relieved he didn't have to bring it up himself. But was also confused. Y/N had made it clear to Namjoon that she was rejecting him, hadn't she? Why was she interested in even putting on a front? It wasn't like there weren't plenty of marriages where everyone knew it was on paper and a business merger only.

Y/N and Namjoon were the ones who actually went into the wedding planner's office.

"It's nice to finally meet you in person, Ms. Park, Mr. Kim." They both shook her hand and bowed. "Alright, let's get started. First, venue." The peppy lady said as they seated themselves in front of her desk. There was a good foot of space between them. "I selected several using the specifications your assistants sent to me." She pulled them up on her laptop and Y/N leaned forward, listening to the pros and cons of each one and trying to act like she was super interested. She really just.....like when it came to weddings she was the type of person who would pick the first thing that looked good, because it was a hassle to do otherwise.

Namjoon remained sitting back, hands in lap, back straight, present and yet not. She felt her irritation rising once again and sourly wondered if he was really just an airhead, or if he enjoyed getting on her nerves.

"What do you think?" She said, turning to him to try and force him to contribute. He must have been thinking about something else because he started slightly and got a deer-in-the-headlights look on his face.

"Uuuuuh.....whatever you think will be best." He said, voice low. The planner giggled and made a comment about a happy wife, happy life but Y/N just looked at him in disbelief. He stared back for a bit, but he didn't look annoyed, he looked.....unsure? "Whatever you want." He bowed slightly and Y/N continued to stare at him for a couple more seconds before the planner sensed the awkward atmosphere and cleared her throat to bring Y/N's attention back to her.

Now it was Y/N's turn to have trouble focusing. That hadn't been the behavior of someone purposefully trying to ignore her. That was....she couldn't put her finger on it. She just wanted this to be over so she could be alone and think it through and started just randomly picking things the planner showed them, wondering why they had assistants if they were going to have to do things like this. Could it just be over already?

Outside, Jimin had had to take a few phone calls but when he was done he approached Namjoon's "assistants" who eyed him warily.

"Ms. Park would like to know what day and time works to take her fiance on a date." He said, phone poised to type down whatever they told him. They looked at each other and then back at him, faces hardening.

"Mr. Kim's schedule is full, he doesn't have time for trivialities." Jimin grit his teeth, resisting the urge to smack both of them. How dare they decided things like this for Namjoon.

"Ms. Park's wishes are not trivialities."

"Mr. Kim is supposed to stay as cloistered from the public eye as possible during his engagement." Wha...? Why had Y/N told him to book a date if Namjoon wasn't allowed out? Surely she knew, she would've been the one that decided that.

He considered stopping and getting clarification from her but also....she had told him to book a date. Maybe she had agreed and didn't realize how it would affect things now.....? He shook himself. He was tired of trying to iron everything out in his mind. Just fucking cooperate already.
