Chapter 22- Goodbye

Newt's POV

I start to wake up and I feel... completely fine! Well besides the smoke inhalation but anyways, what the shuck happened? I thought I had already turned. The last thing I remember was hovering over Thomas with a knife. Oh no, did I kill him? I look around and see that he is okay. That's bloody fantastic! I couldn't live with myself if I had unknowingly killed my best friend. Then I remember y/n. Is she here? I look around to see Minho hovered over a body. I see y/h/l (your hair length) y/h/c hair and immediately know that it is y/n. What's wrong with her? Is she dead? I stumble over to her and see her bleeding from her abdomen with her eyes starting to flutter shut. Nononono this cannot be happening. I scoop her up in my arms and look at her beautiful face. She is covered with blood and sut. I wonder how she ended up like this. If it was Janson... all I can say if he wasn't dead right now, he would be in a couple of minutes. Her breathing starts to sound ragged and she shutters. I say

"Y/n just hold on, somebody will come for us."

She takes a deep breath and says "You know nobody is coming for us or they would be here already."

I know y/n's right but she's dying so I have to comfort her and let her die in peace. I stare into her eyes as she takes a ragged breath and says

"Newt... I know I haven't known you for long" She was cut off by a small cough "But I just need to tell you this before I die."

She looks at me in the eyes and says "I love you"

I look at her shocked. I didn't think she felt the same as me! I respond with

"I love you too y/n, but you're bloody mental if you think you're dying."

She chuckles but her eyes start to shut.

"Y/n wake up! Stay with me... I can't lose you"

I say as she starts to go limp. I start sobbing into her shoulder. She deserved so much better. I hear the thundering boom of engines, the berg is here! I can save y/n! The hatch of the Breg lowers and Vince reaches out his hand to help us up. He sees y/n and says

"Throw her up, I'll catch her."

I do what he says and throw her into the back of the berg. He grabs her and moves her away from the hatch. I then grab Vince's hand and climb into the berg myself to help y/n. I am followed by Thomas, Minho, Brenda, and the other kids that were with us. Everybody except Teresa.

Teresa is just standing there not moving when the building next to us collapses on top of the building we were just on. This seemed to snap her out of it and she runs to the berg Thomas reaches out his hand but is startled when crank Janson bursts out of the stairwell with flaming clothes. How the hell is he still alive? I mean he's a crank but stil. He hurdles over to Teresa and tackles her. The building starts to shake as they are fighting. Teresa reaches out her hand but it's too late. Janson drags her back down as the building crumbles to the ground. Thomas looks shocked. He starts screaming and crying saying that he needs her. Wow, he was in love with a bloody slinthead traitor. The hatch of the berg starts to close as we move further and further away from the city. We tend to y/n wrapping her stomach with whatever we can find as her eyes finally shut. I can faintly see her chest slowly rising and falling so I know she is not dead... yet. She can't die. She means too much to me.

A/N are you going to die??!! 😱 That would suck so I hope you don't die.
