Chapter Fifty One, Us
"How hungry are you, on a scale of one to ten?" Rick inquired.
"15," Carl responded.
"28," Michonne chimed in.
"Duh! 100," came Alli's eager response.
"Well, I'm relieved we stumbled upon something to eat; otherwise, I'm pretty sure you would've devoured us," Rick jested, drawing chuckles from the group. "Well, it's been a while. Should we go check the snares?"
"Count me in," Alli said. Rick had finally taught her how to construct a snare.
"Can I come along?" Carl asked.
"Well, how else are you going to learn?" Rick replied before turning his attention to Michonne. "And you, too."

"We'll stay for another day or two. Get some more rest," Rick proposed.
"Finish healing up?" Michonne inquired.
"I'm almost there."
"We're getting close, right?" Carl posed the question.
"To Terminus?" Rick clarified.
"Yes."
"We are."
"When we arrive, should we tell them?" Carl questioned.
"Tell them what?"
"Everything that's happened to us. All the stuff we've done. Are we gonna tell them the truth?
"We'll tell them who we are."
"But how do you say that? I mean... who are we, exactly?" Carl pondered.
Reaching the designated spot for the snare, they encountered a walker, which Alli swiftly dispatched with her bow.
"Good job. It's a small one, but it'll suffice. Now, this is a basic slipknot. Tie one on each end, then cinch one side to a branch. Notice how the ground here forms a funnel-like shape?" Rick reiterated the instructions he had shared with them when they set the snare together.
"Is that a trail?" Carl inquired.
"Exactly. That's where you want to position the noose. Conceal it with leaves. Then arrange sticks all around so any passing animals are directed into the trap," Rick explained.

"Help! Somebody help!" The anguished cry pierced the air, jolting Alli into action. Without hesitation, she sprang to her feet and dashed toward the source of the desperate screams.
"Alli! Alli, stop! Carl!" Rick's urgent shout tried to rein her in, but Carl was already following in her wake.
"Help! Get away! Help! Somebody help! Help me! No! Get away! Help!"
