How we met

Cassiopeia pov

I woke up this morning with a smile on my face as it was the first of September and normally I wouldn't be this excited because I've lived at Hogwarts since I was five and I've seen the ceremony plenty of times but this time it will be different as I will be starting this year .
I run out of my room (which happens to be an old head girl room) saying hi to every portrait I pass by , as I make it to my dads office I stand in front of the statue and spoke " sherbet lemons" and a staircase appears and I run up it . I barge into the room not bothering to knock and see my dad at his desk .
" morning sweetie did you sleep well" dad asked me with a glint in his eyes which I realised he always seemed to have .
" not one bit but it doesn't matter"

" oh and why is that"

" because dad it's the first of September or did you forget" I say in a happy tone

" of course not I will never forget my daughters first day at school, have you spoken to Aunt Minnie today" dad asked me with the same happy tone as me because I know he is just as excited as I am

" umm no because last time I spoke to her before her first cup of coffee she gives me this look that she give me when I pulled that prank on her with the Weasley twins and believe me she is scary when she is mad"

"Ahh yes I've been on the receiving end of that look as well multiple times , now I think it is about time we get breakfast don't you ?"
As if on cue my stomach rumbles
" I'll take that as a yes"

As the sky became dark and students began to fill up the tables I walked with Minnie to the entrance two tall doors waiting for Hagrid ( who by the way is my best friend) to bring the firsts years to the castle. After a moment of silence I spoke up " so Minnie what house do you think I be in"

" I can honestly say I have no idea Cassie as I can see you in any house and I hate to say this but from when the new students arrive you will have to call me professor McGonagall as you will be in fact a student and you will have to act like one now dear"
" okay but i will call you Minnie when we are alone" I say to her with a smile which she returned.

The new students began to arrive and I look at them all to who I would like to hang out with as even though I have Fred and George my dad would want me to make friends my own age , I'm brought out my thought when my eyes meet bright green ones , the boy with the green eyes looks at me and I felt heat rushing to my face so I look at Minnie who seemed to have seen this and smiles to her self .
"The firs'-years , Professor McGonagall" Hagrid said and waved when he spotted me .The first years followed Minnie and I to the entrance of the Great Hall , we stop and Minnie turns to look at the student and began to speak
" Welcome to Hogwarts, the start of term banquet will begin shortly but before you take your seats in be Grate Hall you will be sorted into houses. The four houses are called Gryffindor, Hufflepuff , Ravenclaw and Slytherin ..." I stoped paying attention as I've herd this plenty of times before as I usually come with Minnie to bring in the first years  after a bit
she told us to wait here for a moment and with that she left. I look around for someone to talk to and I spot a girl with bushy hair so I walked up to her and taped her shoulder , she turned around to look at me and I stood my hand out " hello"
" hi" the bushy haired girl replied with a kind smile while shaking my hand .
" my name is Cassiopeia Dumbledore but people Cassie"

" I'm Hermione Granger if you don't mind me asking are you related to Professor Dumbledore?" She ask unsure
" oh ye Dumbledore is my adoptive farther but he's my dad even though he's not related to me by blood but hey family doesn't end in blood right .. umm sorry I'm rambling on" I say looking down at my feet only to be brought up by Hermione laughter.
" it's fine people tent to say I ramble on all the time about the things I know"
" well Hermione I think we're going to be best friends"

Before she could reply Minnie comes back to tell us they are ready for us , she lead us into the Great Hall . Me and Hermione walk in together and she told me he ceiling is bewitched to look like the sky and I was surprised by this not because I didn't know it but because she did , I finally had someone to talk about books with . When we all stop the sorting hat began to sing
"Oh you may not think I'm pretty But don't judge on what you see, I'll eat myself if you can find a smarter hat then me
You can keep your bowlers black , your top hats sleek and tall, for in the Hogwarts Sorting Hat and I can cal them all ..."
Yet again I find my self not listening but when I do I hear a boy say " so we've just got to try on that hat , I'll kill Fred, he was going on about wrestling a troll" the boy had red hair and I had a pretty strong feeling this was Fred and George's little brother . I giggle and the boy next to the red head looked at me and I was yet again meet with those gorgeous green eyes . I waved at him and he turned a bit red in the face but waved back .
Hermione must of saw as she gave me this look as if she knew something I didn't .

As people began to be sorted I saw my dad and waved at him and he gave me a nod of the head in return .
" Granger , Hermione" Minnie called out , Hermione looked as if she was going to faint so a gave her thumbs up and she sat down and after a few seconds the hat shouted " GRYFFINDOR" , Hermione looked at me with a big smile
" Dumbledore, Cassiopeia" , I walked up to he hat and saw my dad lean forward in his seat , I sat on the stool and the hat was put on me and and began to speak to me
" ahh Cassiopeia finally being sorted at last"

" yep Mr hat I'm so excited"

" I can see now let's get this done and other with , you could do well on every house , you crave knowledge like a true Ravenclaw, your as loyal to your friends like a Hufflepuff , your as brave and daring as a Gryffindor like your mother but your as cunning as a Slytherin like your farther"
When the had talked about my birth parents I felt a bit weird as my dad won't talk talk about them not as he doesn't think I was old enough. The hat spoke again
" I think I'll put you in GRYFFINDOR"
The whole Gryffindor table laughed and I went and sat beside Hermione you congratulated me .
The ceremony went on and the red headed boy who was called Ron who was in fact Fred and George's brother was put in Gryffindor and then the was a named that caught my ear
" Potter Harry"
I look up to see the green eyed boy was the Harry Potter that the world talked about . After a moment of silence the house spoke
" GRYFFINDOR"
Harry looked relieved and he made his way over and took the empty seat next to me .
I looked at him with a gentle smile I've seen my dad use plenty of times and stretched out my hand and introduced my self
" I'm Cassiopeia but you can call me Cassie"
He stared at me for a moment but then shook my hand and replied

" I'm Harry , Harry Potter"
