Chen An was a greedy man, always had been.

Lu Feng wouldn’t be able to accompany Chen An to the United States for the LASIK. Apparently, Chen An wasn’t joking when he told Lu Feng to get out of the arms trade the other day; as a result, Lu Feng needed to focus his attention on getting ready for the Group’s transition.

It was not really something that could be accomplished in one or two days, maybe not even one or two years. But as long as they could get through the initial stage, what followed would be much easier. So in order to make sure everything went smoothly in the beginning, Lu Feng needed to be there in person, and be all in at it.

What Chen An said was: You really don’t need to go with me. It’s just a minor surgery. Do you take me for an old man who can’t walk or take care of himself? Chen Yang will go with me. I need you to put your mind on the business of the Group. I’ll call you.

As white clouds floated outside the airplane window like a foaming white sea, stretching on in endless layers, the plane slid across the sky towards the North American continent.

The man sitting by the window turned his eyes from the clouds to the plate just placed before him, on which was freshly cooked steak sliced into small pieces, and neatly arranged on the exquisite white china. Chen Yang was the one who put the plate before Chen An when he finished cutting the last piece.

Compared with Lu Feng, the more outgoing Chen Yang was in fact the more considerate of the two.

“If you keep on mollycoddling me, aren’t you afraid that I may become pampered?” Chen An smiled, picked up a piece with his fork and put it into his mouth. It was not overly raw, but tender and juicy.

Chen Yang had arranged everything on the plane, from the pilot to the chef, including the chef for the dessert, so that the newly recuperated Chen An didn’t have to worry one bit.

For Chen An, his life now seemed like that of the empress dowager——surrounded by people who tended to his every need, and accompanied wherever he went——he barely need to lift a finger. He harbored the suspicion that if this went on any longer, he was going to become a sloth.

“Not afraid at all. I like tending to you,” Chen Yang smiled sweetly as he watched Chen An eat the pieces he cut, with much satisfaction, “uncle, I will look after you for the rest of my life.”

Hearing it, Chen An looked up and gave Chen Yang a withering look: “wait until your father hears it; he is going to be so cross.”

Probably because it was the first time Chen An ever mentioned family to Chen Yang, the latter paused for a moment, and then looking down, Chen Yang said, “uncle, there’s something I’ve meant to tell you.”

“Hiding secrets from me now, huh?”

Chen Yang shook his head, and replied, smiling: “not hiding it. Just didn’t want you to worry when you were ill. When you were in hospital, I got a call from back home.”

“They couldn’t possibly be urging you to get married, could they? You haven’t graduated yet.”

Chen An was aware that Chen Yang didn’t tell people at home what he had been up to since he was introduced to the business by Chen An. Chen Yang’s family probably still thought of him as the straight-A student who never put a toe out of line, the hope of the family, the only one that attended university in the entire village.

What Chen An really appreciated in Chen Yang, was that on top of being smart and hard-working, the young man did not become complacent or arrogant after he gained some riches and experience. So, Chen Yang was still the easy-going young man he liked from the beginning, at least in Chen An’s eyes.
