His head hurt, as if it was about to split in half any minute.

The birthday party had been was crazy. Young men and women he did not know moved before him. In the roaring cheer and laughter, Chen An persuaded himself to let go of his usual reserved manner, and held hands with the star of the day, Ding Sheng. After a few drinks, they danced together.

Truth be told, Chen An had reached an older age, but he was trying to stay young.

Whether it was Chen Yang, Lu Feng or Ivanov, they were all very young compared to him. While Chen Yang worried that he was not good enough for Chen An, Chen An had to admit that he also had his insecurities: what about the huge age gap between him and them?

Perhaps he should attend lively parties like this more often, and try to sing and dance like young people, instead of leading a retired life in his thirties, tending to his small garden, his flowers and plants.

Without the troublesome title of ‘Fox with Nine Tails’, Chen An was just an ordinary man here, a guest invited to a birthday party. No one here knew who he truly was, and Chen An felt relaxed. Ding Sheng’s friends were all friendly and nice young people.

They talked all night, about the latest movies, about the Billboard top songs, or some newly opened restaurant that they could try out some day.

And in the heat of the moment, Chen An drank some wine.

“Please forgive me.”

Chen An touched his palm to his forehead; he did not relish hearing these three words.

“I’m sorry, Uncle Chen. Hit me if you want to. I deserve it.”

Well, it was not his fault.

Chen An opened his eyes, and glanced at the young man who knelt on the floor, which was scattered with clothing items. Ding Sheng’s head hung low, his eyes were red-rimmed and his mouth was puckered. He looked as if he was going to cry any time, which made Chen An feel a bit guilty.

Though he was the one on the bottom last night, and he occasionally joked with Ding Sheng about “coming after him”, he never really planed for them to end up in bed.

Chen An could swear, he was a greedy man, but not a promiscuous one.

“It’s not your fault. I should not have drunk the wine.” Chen An sighed. He was not the only one who drank last night; Ding Sheng also drank plenty.

It was true that Chen An was usually blind to the world when he was drunk, but he actually remembered vaguely bits of what happened last night, for instance, it was he who led Ding Sheng back to his room, and pushed him down onto the bed. And it was he who undressed himself before the flushed and dazed Ding Sheng.

Also, it was he who treated Ding Sheng in the way that he treated Chen Yang before he left the farm, hmm, well…right.

All in all, though he was the one on the bottom, he actually played the lead in the whole process. And Chen An did not believe Ding Sheng could force him to do anything if he didn’t want to.

“No, I should not have drunk, either. It’s my fault.” Ding Sheng’s head hung even lower. He bit his lips, like he was the one taken advantage of.

When Ding Sheng woke up this morning and opened his eyes, he saw Chen An’s face close by, at which point the young man, who hadn’t much experience with it, chuckled, thinking it was just another dream. He edged happily closer, cuddled and kissed the man.

All the time he was thinking: why did this dream feel so real? As if he was really holding Uncle Chen in his arms? Uncle Chen smelled nice, with a touch of wine in it. He would really like to nibble him.
