“Why are you the only one here?”

At eight o’clock in the morning, Chen An and Chen Yang arrived on campus as scheduled. To their surprise, only the tall boy was there. The other two were nowhere to be seen.

“Are the two little wretches not up yet?” Chen An asked, arms before his chest.

“They said they were not well, and can’t come today.” The tall boy did not seem to be his usual self. In contrast to the puffed-up way that he used to speak, his tone was flattened and lacked conviction.

It didn’t take Chen An with his acute observation to see that the tall boy was not telling the whole truth; even Chen Yang noticed.

“Did Zhao Ziliang threaten you?” Chen Yang’s words gave the tall boy a shock. He asked with wide eyes: “how did you know?”

A tight-lipped smile came onto Chen An’s face. For a scoundrel like Zhao Ziliang, it wasn’t that difficult a guess. Even with the clear upper hand that the basketball class had, Zhao Ziliang was not above sabotaging, just in case.

“So why did you come?” Chen An inquired, “aren’t you afraid he’ll take it out on you?”

The tall boy was a key member of their team; there was no way that Zhao Ziliang threatened the other two but left him out.

“He’s a rich kid, so what? I don’t find him scary. I have no respect for rich, dissipated rascals like Zhao Ziliang. The idea of kicking his ass on the court gives me great pleasure!” The tall boy regained his usual self-assured manner; Chen An was not surprised.

He even found it a bit endearing. After all, this was what it meant to be young. It was not a problem as long as he could find his way around it as he got older. The young man’s heart was clearly in the right place. Chen An found himself seriously considering taking on another apprentice.

Yes, he’d given up the arms trade. He had a long way before him though, and being a PE teacher was not a long-term occupation for him. It was his way of trying things out. In other words, it was his way of trying to be a normal person leading a normal life.

PE teacher or not, he was still the Old Fox underneath.

“That’s good. You’ve got some balls,” Chen An approved.

“We can ask the other students in the class to join, but I suppose Zhao Ziliang won’t leave them alone either.” Chen Yang said with a frown. Looking down, he thought for a moment. Then he glanced at Chen An, and with a lowered tone, said, “An, shall we…”

“No.” Chen An put in before Chen Yang could finish the sentence.

Chen An knew what Chen Yang was thinking. They could give Zhao Ziliang a hard time like they would in the past. With a little bit of maneuvering, they could easily ruin him.

Chen An, however, didn’t want to do it. He didn’t want to go back, and do questionable things whenever he pleased. What was more, he didn’t want to be separated again with Chen Yang and the others.

He was lucky to have survived twice; he didn’t believe he would be so lucky the third time.

“Now it’s only the three of us. Even if we invite people from other class in, they won’t accept with Zhao Ziliang threatening them.” Chen Yang sighed inwardly. If he’d known, he’d have dealt with Zhao Ziliang much earlier.

The reason that he didn’t was because he would be a suspect to the Zhao family if he acted too soon.

Chen Yang disliked the idea of losing, and he disliked the idea of seeing Chen An lose even more. Thus if they did not find a solution soon, he would act and get rid of Zhao Ziliang in his own way.
