"Who?"

"They said her name is Jeon Heejin."

Soobin dashed out of his class in an instant. "That can't be true," he kept telling himself. Everyone's well aware of the suicidal count every year but ....he would've never imagine. When he reach the grounds, everyone was gathered around and ambulance sirens could be heard from a distance. He pushed his wzy through and found her dead body, spread on the ground lifeless.

He couldn't get to her because the teachers kept pushing the students away. But he knew,he couldn't get to her forever. Soobin sat down in an empty laboratory class and cried. He couldn't bring himself to remorse before his friends so he cried alone.

It went on for many days. He was still remorsing and alone ....untill that one day.
"Quiet! You're driving me crazy! Quiet!!"

Soobin flinched when he heard all the yelling going on. The first floor is basically unused and uninhabited partially because it's the laboratory floor where geeks do experiments and whatnot. Not that there are too many geeks in Ace.
He stood by the door and peak inside where the commotion was.

There was a girl. She had long raven hair and she was crouched on the floor, her hands pressed on her ears as she cried. Begging to a nonexistent person to stop. Soobin was startled at first, "who is she talking to?" because there was no in the room except him.

"Heejin-ah, I'm sorry," she cried that perk his ears. "I'm sorry I can't save you. But please stop."

The first thought he had was, "she's crazy." But the longer he watch, he felt a wave of sympathy rush over him. Was it because of the way she cries? Because she was struggling? Because she was tired? Or because she was sad? Whatever it was, he couldn't tore his eyes away from her.

And that was how he came to know of a certain girl named, Choi Julia or Lia. She was the class president of the next room. She was pretty, studious, kinda weird but all the more interesting.

When he had inquired people about her, they would say, "the pretty girl with a smile." But honestly, what Soobin saw in her beg to differ. She never smiled. She only did sometimes and that too, forcibly trying to show a good side of her to others. He had figured, she was hurt. But who hurt her? That answer came clear a week after she had tried to jump off the building.

They coincidentally met when Soobin was visiting Heejin in the mortium. He stood in a distance unbeknownst and listen.

"I'm sorry, Heejin. I want to help you but," her voice cracked and she was already crying. "I don't know how. Believe me, I want you to see justice but I ....I'm sorry."

The answer? Heejin was hurting her.

From that day onwards, he kept a close watch on Lia and coincidentally found himself drawn to her. He didn't shake off the feelings but accepted them. She was irresistible, and he wanted to protect her.
