"Sophie! Sophie!" Emma screamed through the smoke. The kitchen was set on fire by an unknown cause and spread to the remainder of the house. Flames surrounded her as she stepped into the living room, or what was left of it. "Sophie! Take Amy and get out of here!"
"MOM!" a voice shrieks from the neighboring room.
"Sophie!"
"Mom, get out of here! I can save myself! Amy is upstairs! I'll get her!"
"No, Sophie! You will not go up there! You will not burn to death!" She rounded the corner and ran to Sophie. "You could be so great. You will not die here. You are young, and beautiful, and I love you," Emma embraced her daughter. Tears ran down their cheeks but they didn't care. Their faces were painted with ash, and cut from broken glass, but they didn't care. Because they needed to say goodbye.
"I don't want you to go!" Sophie cried as they broke apart.
"Goodbye Sophie," her mother ran up the stairs. "I love you."
