Kathir was in deep sleep which couldn't even wake up to his fav Naduvan song alarm. It was repeating the same lyrics which annoys the sleeping Jeeva instead.

It's a hostellers thing to joined the separated single beds together to sleep and when there's a spot check by the warden will separate it again. Jeeva and Kathir joined the bed together once they get the room and he was sleeping next to him, so he woke from his sleep and kick his friend.
