I woke up to the sound of someone rapidly hitting a punching bag.
Neil was practising with Vicky standing next to him, whispering something.
I watched from the door as they both trained in perfect coordination, I then knew that I would never fit in.
It wasn't that I was weak, even though I was, I don't think I'd ever be as good as him even if I trained.
So with a heavy heart I stepped in the hall.
'Morning' I mumble.
Neil throws a small smile which I very easily ignore and look at Vicky.
'You're not strong enough, you won't make it.' Vicky states.
'Thanks for saying it'
He sighs.
'I don't want to waste your time or ours so I think you should leave, I'll get transport arranged for you tomorrow.'
Neil stares at him wide eyed as I try my best to keep a neutral face.
This conversation didn't go exactly as planned.
'Alright, it's not like I wanted to be here anyways.' I shrugged.
'Vicki she can-' Neil began
'Leave me alone, okay. I don't need you to defend me !'
I cut him off and I regretted it as soon as I said it.
His expression darkened as his eyes became glossy and he walked out of the room.
I closed my eyes and shook my head, he wasn't trying to kill me, now was he?
Then why did I say that?
' I don't know what happened between the two of you, but you shouldn't have said that.'
Vicky's voice reminded me of his presence.
'I know.' I mumbled.
I regretted that a lot, even though I hadn't completely forgiven him but he was trying to make amends and I was just being mean.
That wasn't fair.
'I'm gonna go pack.'
I needed to get out of here.
