'Vanessa Maureen Winters! The audacity you've been there for what 4 days now and you still haven't called me ! '

'Morning Val, it's nice to see you too' I replied switching on the video, she was sitting in her office, looking like she hadn't slept in days.

'I'm sorry I overreacted, I know that you couldn't call me.' She murmured

'It's alright' I brushed it off

She stared outside her window and then back at me.

'How are you ?' I asked 'And when is the last time you slept?'

She chuckled, 'I'm the elder sister let me ask first'

'Yeah currently I feel more like the older sister than you do'

She rolled her eyes 'Sure, sure'

I sent a virtual kick, and she punched me back.

'Okay okay let's stop,' I called for truce

'I only have three minutes and wow, now I only have two minutes'

That immediately made her stop.

'Right, sorry I forgot.'

'Stop apologising for literally everything.'

She ran her hands through her hair,something was definitely bothering her.

'Val what's wrong ?'

'N-nothing'

I wasn't convinced and she realized.

'Vans you've got nothing to worry about, okay? Let's talk about you!'

My shoulders fell when I realized that she wasn't going to tell me.

'Please Vanessa' haha she didn't call me that unless she was dead serious.

'Okay' I murmured.

'You got a minute more Jackson' Vicki screams from outside.

'What's your code name again?'

'Platina Jackson' I smirk.

'Oh you totally did that.'

' I kept my promise, you changed yours to agent red'

'Hey it's because of the rule about changing names-'

'Yeah, yeah I know' I cut her off, we didn't have much time to waste.

'Will you tell me what's wrong Val?'

'You'll find out soon, I'm not going to tell you right now'

I sighed, it was a lost cause.

'I love you, never forget that and I'm always here for you Vanessa'

'I know, I love you too. Bye...'

'Goodbye'

She whispered as the line went dead.

Now I wished I hadn't spoken to her, she hadn't told me anything, only left me with more questions.

I stepped out of the interrogation room where I had been talking, to Vicky and Neil arguing.

"If you didn't know me, then how did you know they were my parents? You know our real identities don't you? ' Neil shouted.

'Boy listen to me' Vicky said, poking his finger on Neil's chest.

'No you don't lie to me, you know what actually happened don't you ?'

'They told me yesterday to include your friend Zach's number because only numbers I program into that device can be called.'

Neil's shoulders dropped, he looked exhausted, his face flushed.

'Better learn to keep your mouth shut from next time, you aren't the first one doing this and believe me they know what they're doing. I don't know your first name but I did know them so I know your last. That's it lad, that's all.' 

And as he walked out he stopped to mention one last thing, 'this is the last time I'm explaining myself to both of you, I'm your mentor if you can't trust me, you might as well leave.'

'Neil what's going on ?' I whispered, all the secrecy was beginning to creep me out.

He opened his mouth to say something but then stopped himself 'good night Nessa'

And just like that he left too.

Still so many questions but no answers.

And now no one to ask.
