A beat, maybe even more than one and then a malicious laugh straight from Xavier's mouth as I looked at him in disgust.

How the hell is this man a government employee?

He walks and talks like a gangster, everything about him screams danger.

It's hard to believe he's an agent...unless he isn't.

I looked at Neil remembering what Xavier said earlier about Neil not shooting but he avoids my gaze.

Huh. He can't avoid me forever.

Something's fishy.

'Agents' Xavier yelled looking at his watch 'go get some sleep, we will meet at The Yard tomorrow morning sharp at 6 o' clock.'

I looked at my watch it was 3 already.

How damn nice of Xavier to let us sleep.

I really appreciated it.

All the men formed a line again and I waited behind so I could walk with Neil but he had already left and was walking way ahead of me.

Why was he avoiding me?

How long could he carry on for anyways?

He had to work with me tomorrow morning and there was no escaping that.

-x-

I couldn't get a wink of sleep that night. It was 4 AM already.

The human body was so weird.

When I had time to sleep my eyes would never close and when I didn't I kept dozing off.

Some sort of sorcery this was.

I looked around for the hundredth time and saw Neil fast asleep with his hands sticking to his sides and legs glued together, similar to a soldier's stance.

He seemed so disturbed even in his sleep,I wish I knew what was bothering him.

My eyebrows furrowed as I suddenly remembered him saying that he could never sleep straight and god was it true, I never got to draw on his face on the rare days I woke up before him.

I got out of my sleeping bag and inspected his face, leaning in as close as I possibly could.

And there it was, the grin I was waiting for.

This man was always trying to fool me.

I swatted his arm,'Why the hell were you pretending to be asleep? And why were you avoiding me today?'

He put a finger on my lips and took my hand, 'Let's talk somewhere else'.

-x-

'The bathroom seriously?' I asked completely weirded out.

'Yup ain't no better place to talk.' He grinned.

'Not the time to joke idiot, don't change the subject.'

'Guilty' He mumbled with his hands raised.

I couldn't hold back a chuckle.

'Yeah so coming back to the topic, there's no easy way to say it. I-I didn't even want to but Vicky told me that I sho-

'Hold up, Vicky knows?'

He looked up wide eyed, 'Uh yeah'

'Wow and I don't. Great.'

'Nah-nah Ness I didn't-

'Shut up Neil, just shut up and tell me.'

He swallowed before finally speaking,

'I lied to you. I was an agent before I met you again, I've been here for 2 years now.'
